Seen Simon Murray mentioned on here and elsewhere from time to time. Rumour that the Fun want him, no idea if we do. Back a few years ago some folk said he was a Fun fan, others claimed he was a United fan.
Can someone put this to bed once and for all, is he a Funster or an Arab?

He is. This is what he said after Dundee's greatest celebration in 50 years game - the doon derby which he played in for United.


“That defeat at Dens was without doubt the lowest point in my career. I suffered a cruciate injury in South Africa which was bad but, from purely a playing point of view, that was the worst.

“I was devastated. The truth is we didn’t get relegated just because of that one night but fate had it that Dens was the venue where it was confirmed. And with an injury-time goal to really rub it in.

“It was a horrible dark night, everything about it was awful.

“We let the fans down and I remember we went over to applaud them and thank them for their backing.

“The Dundee fans were obviously taking advantage of the chance to rub it in.

“They were celebrating relegating their biggest rivals and you can’t blame them for that. We just had to take it on the chin.

“It was a bit like running the gauntlet. It went on for a long time after on social media too.

“I’m a Dundee fan. I’ll be there on Sunday in the away end but that doesn’t change the fact that night was the lowest I’ve felt on a football pitch.

Be madness for county to let him go, not like they need the money, but if players want to leave they do as they please. Hopefully the recruitment team has unearthed some gems.

Just hope we make a move for him, he is very much underrated, was when he was with us first time, he's better now though and the fun will snap him up, only Miovski, Shanks and Bair have as many goals as him in the top flight this season outwith the old firm, he might be a dee but he knows who the bigger club are so let's give him a decision to make

Have a few good memories from his time with us, Falkirk away in play off, he was also denied a stonewall pen in the hole leg v Accies, his first goal for us away to Motherwell, a breakaway to make it 2-0 at the death, falling running behind the goal to celebrate with the fans, good away day that

Depends who the other options are though. And we don't know yet. Absolutely no guarantee he'll repeat this season's total wherever he plays.
Definitely a much improved player though.

Despite the flak he gets from our fans it's fair to say Graham is also much improved since his time at Tannadice but he's doing it in the Championship while Murray is doing it in the Premier.

If the Fun do land Murray theyll be getting a good player.
But it's about what we do and it's up to the recruitment team to impress us because Moult/Watt Fotheringham won't be enough to break Premiership defences on a regular basis.
