I have to agree here - he wasn't insane enough to attack a boxing gym or a gang of Scaffolders on site. He was calculated and lucid enough to know to attack an easy and vulnerable target.

The notion that the person responsible is mentally ill is just one of the many items of some speculation that features on this thread (although I wouldn't be surprised).

On the logic in the quoted post, nobody who attacks a vulnerable target can be mentally ill. That's not really how it works.

The line of “not terror related”,although relatively a new one in context .needs to revisited or re addressed/redefined .its a damp cloth to an house fire.you ask yourself how you feel when you see “not terror related”..it’s a template phrase but it doesn’t serve any purpose anymore.

I'm not sure it is that new clarkey as most of what the IRA were doing 50 years ago was labeled that way. However, I'm not sure what purpose it serves in this instance or in fact in any instance, does it make the families of the victims feel any better or worse? I doubt it. Same goes for the ubiquitous "Hate crime" label. Just label it what it is, a crime!

Sorry - just re-read it and your reference was to 'not terror related'.

I’m sorry Cam but that’s just not good enough. A crime is a theft or a burglary for example.
To label this as simply a crime is everything what’s wrong nowadays.
It’s far worse than that in fact the worst act possible.
    You can’t simplify this.
I’m not suggesting you don’t care as much as the next person but i fundamentally disagree with you.
