Well, the way things are going, you would struggle to bet against it if things continue as they are.
But why? What has happened that is Howe's fault?
Clearly, something is not working. What it is, I don't know - my best idea was that we were trying to rein ourselves in a bit, to avoid a repeat of last year's injury horror story. Now - well I haven't a clue.
To me, the whole thing seemed to go tits up when Amanda left.
I'm usually an optimist, but I now have huge worries for the rest of the season.

We have zero pace in midfield apart from Tonali who at least makes runs forward,Bruno and Joe are too slow and clumsy getting caught in possession too often. Morgan Gibbs White type of player is needed in midfield. Let’s get it done in January or the seasons gonna frizzle out, along with Eddie and that’s not what I would want to happen.

    You get games like this.
A fully match fit Isaac would likely have bagged a brace.
We got done by a long ball against the run of play and didn't recover.
on another day, Brighton would've been dead and buried by halftime.

Howe has his faults, but it's not time to call him out yet, for me anyway.

Way too fkn soon to be calling for Howes head at this stage, could essily have won that 3 nil yesterday. I think we need to go back to the high energy style we had two seasons ago with no Europe this year, whu not Thats what worked.

Frickin gutting result: at home against a direct rival. Very frustrating because we played mostly very well.
Now the dust has settled a bit, Sclox and Magzer are right. This happens in football and it was only one game. I know we’ve been less than impressive this season but IMO we are improving.

Now the dust has settled a bit, Sclox and Magzer are right. This happens in football and it was only one game. I know weÂ’ve been less than impressive this season but IMO we are improving.
IÂ’m not seeing an improved team at all, weÂ’ve gone backwards since the season before last.

Tino has gone backwards since last season, Tripps got hammered for some silly mistakes and Tino made a few of the same yesterdayÂ… getting caught on the wrong side of his man numerous times, and caught napping on the edge of the box.

    Hall has barely improved.

The transitions from defence to midfield are shocking, very slow, very unsure, and by the time we get the ball to the midfield opposition teams are reset and can handle our p!ss poor attempts to get into the final third.

Gordon is predictable in trying to get the ball to the byline, had one good move and shot which needed their keeper to make a good saveÂ… looks like he is trying too hard most of the time, and in fairness he probably feels like he has a lot of weight on his shoulders and it is hurting his game.

Bruno is also trying to do too much, maybe because the midfield unit of the three best players still hasnÂ’t gelled despite them having all three available in training together for a long time now.

No real urgency of attack from the midfield, or out from the back as well.

This is a settled squad, yeah we didnÂ’t improve in the summer but the silver lining of that should be they know what they are aboutÂ… not seeing that on the pitch though.

Our set pieces are so poor, look at the way Bournemouth played their cornerÂ… that was class, but we have players of at least similar quality but they are floundering and most of our corners are failing at the first man.

IÂ’m seeing a squad that is rudderless, no real clue what to do, and weÂ’ve been fortunate with moments of brilliance that are more individual efforts than anything else.

Think I read that we have only scored more goals than WolvesÂ… and they scored against City today so not sure if that still stands.

I really like Eddie, but we look poor… only game I have watched and thought we look decent this season was against City… but how much was that players raising their game against the ‘best team’ in the league and how much was it a plan and tactics?

The club will have been considering alternative managers with all the England job uncertainty until very recentlyÂ… canÂ’t see them putting a stop to that now after TuchelÂ’s appointmentÂ… and while I agree it is too early to pull the trigger I honestly think that if things carry on as they are we could see a new manager by Jan before the transfer window.

I do hope we see better performances soon, but the truth is the football has gone backwards, the players we have can perform better, weÂ’ve seen their quality in the past but as a unit they look averageÂ… and the fact of the matter is that is down to the manager and his tactics, coaching, team selection and substitutions.

Fingers crossed Eddie turns it around, but just looks like it is a case of having to go back to basics, we have to keep the ball a lot better, maybe a new approach is needed, because I am seeing 11 talented individuals out there, not a team playing like they have a clue what their team mates are doing or where they should be.
