With most Millers fans now wanting Steve Evans to leave the club, whether he resigns
or gets the sack, Tony Stewart has a problem to solve.
The season tickets sales will fall for next season, fans will not be hoodwinked into
    buying them.
How many times have we heard from Tony Stewart, that he's learnt from past mistakes,
which he said he would rectify, but the club has not.
Personally I believe Tony Stewart needs to get rid of Paul Douglas, a man who knows
about money, but no idea on valuation of players, having no football experience.
The club need a new chief executive with football knowledge on the board.
But if he gets rid of Steve Evans, who does he bring in to manage the club, someone
ideally who will help sell season tickets next season, come what league the club is in.
Paul Douglas will not criticise anything TS does, that's why he is a permanent fixture, likewise with SE, with his continuous praising of his employer. We have had no plan at all at this club and will not attract any ambititious manager, with the tight budget they have to work with.Wycombe,a much smaller club than us,under new ownership have invested and it is paying dividends with a young squad, now clear league leaders. We are just not run professionally and unless we replace this club with new progressive ideas I fear the worst.

Is this the same Wycombe, much smaller club (for now) who offered £20/£25m for Readings £50m (to build) training ground?

    The bloke is worth billions.

I do find it amazing that the likes of Wycombe, Birmingham and Wrexham are at the top of the division. I wonder why?

In 4 months time, we'll see the financials. We'll see if Tony Stewart simply lost interest or if he gave Matty Taylor too much financial support because he (he didn't really) kept us up.

Either way, unless the Stewart family want to keep on running the club, I think it's time he looks to offload the club. He's too old and it's clear the club needs a reset.

Doesn't excuse the abuse he's getting though.

You can bring in as many new managers and consultants as you like, it's the players that aren't successfully passing 5 yards, missing sitters, crossing poorly, if at all and not cutting out opposition crosses.
If we'd taken half the easy chances we've had, we'd be in a play-off place, despite the horrible football we're playing.

I think you make some really good points here. You are correct money is a huge factor and our chairman isn't in the same league as other owners. I think we can see our financial position by the fact we didn't start the season with a full squad and vastly reduced the playing staff over the summer. That isn't a criticism of TS, keeping the club financially viable and alive is a priority. However, when you do that you cannot be that surprised by the outcome. He has been and still is a good chairman we have had our most successful season in our history under his leadership, but as you say it might be time for a change.

I am not sure I see him getting abuse, he is being criticised and that is par for the course of a football club owner. Perhaps I am not looking where you are, I don't do social media and living abroad I don't get to go to enough games in person anymore. I do agree with you that he shouldn't be receiving abuse.

May as well shut all the threads on management, the board, politics, and just leave open match threads and the Wordle thing then.

These are THE SAME players who were playing billions of times better and only losing at the start of the season because we had failed to recruit a single, decent finisher. Go figure.

No we are debating it because we are fans of the club and this is a discussion board for fans to talk about things related to the club.
