Maynard needs to stop this ridiculous idea of inverted wing backs and revert to a flat back four. Playing people out of position just doesn't work for us, as proved once again yesterday. In January we need to sign players with both pace and energy, who can go straight into the starting eleven. Didzy is a season past his best, and should be replaced. Austin is a bench warmer at best, Hinchey, Cundy, Brown, Martin and McDonald have all been poor signings and are not even good enough to sit on the bench. If Notts are serious about promotion, as they said at the fans forum, then action not words is needed.

Didn't need to look them up and wasn't sat at home so two more wrong conclusions you've leapt to

I suppose the difference is that he was available on the bench yesterday in case of serious injury to a key defender, which he wouldn't be if he missed a game through suspension.

Why does yesterday prove we can’t play with inverted wing backs?
We’ve also had a lot of good results this season with that setup which would suggest we can. Tsaroulla was moved on the left in the second half against Newport and was far less effective.
I disagree about Didzy. His work rate is one of the highest on the pitch. I also think Hinchy has had his two best games against Posh and Walsall.
The other four I agree with though.

Maybe the reasoning was that they'd rather have the team weakened against Salford than risk having it weakened against Bradford or Franchise. If so then it backfired, obviously, but that's with the benefit of hindsight

What suggests that we can?t play inverted wing backs (without JJ) is that we?ve done so the entire season, and the three we?re currently asking to do it have a grand total of zero league goals and two league assists between them. From the position that is just about the most important in terms of creativity in the system that we?re playing.

I don?t mind inverted WBs if players can do it as it works for quite a lot of players and I certainly believe JJ could do a lot of damage on the right as well as the left.
I think the bigger issue is WB is a very hard position to play and personally I think we?re quite weak in that area, we need some raw pace as an option in those areas too.

Not sure I agree with you.
Didzy strolls around with no urgency at all if you watch him closely and Hinchy hopefully will be off in January he?s definitely not upto the standard required if we are serious to like the owners say ?wanting to get promotion ?.
If they are serious like they say pair of idiots need put there arrogance aside and pay off this clown in charge and strengthen where we need it in January.

Id personally give Gordon a run in the team I mean he?s no worse than Austin and he?s been patient so far and with this winless run continues he?s got to be thinking what he needs to do to get a look in.
