The game against Bournemouth was surreal.
I remember Carl Gilbert scored 2 but then went in goal when Jim McDonagh got injured and conceded 3.
I'm pretty sure we had another change of keepers but can't remember who the third one was.

Thanks Jock, it was a long time ago so i'll stand corrected.......utm.

10th October was the 2-7 game........and we lost the return 4-0 on 3rd Feb 1973.

The most famous game between the 2 sides came in October 1972 when the South coast side won 7-2.
Bournemouth's Brian Clark in only his second game for the club scored 4 times, and against 3 different keepers to claim some sort of Football League record.
Debutant, Alan Groves added 2 more and Micky Cave hit one.
United's Carl Gilbert had a very mixed evening, as he scored 2 but conceded 3 during his deputy Goalkeepers role following an injury to regular Keeper Jim McDonagh.
