Thread: Blackpool Post Match Thoughts

All good points Brin, but I'd add something else to that list - composure.

It was noticeable throughout the game (though mainly in the first half) that several players actually stopped with the ball and had a look rather than hopefully booting it down the pitch. This resulted in a vast improvement in passing accuracy compared to what we've seen recently.

Matt Hamshaw starts his interim job with 2 wins out of 2 games, the players look like they
are enjoying wearing the Millers shirt, with the demise of Evans & Raynor.

Big test on Tuesday away against Bolton Wanderers, then Saturday away at Stockport County.

A mention for Blackpool goal keeper Harry Tyrer, at the end of the game, he turned round to
the Millers fans in the north stand, & applauded us., before leaving the pitch.

Yesterday was the first time for months that I actually looked forward to going to NYS.
The atmosphere in the stadium was noticeably better from the outset and I enjoyed the game, not just because we won but because of the renewed effort and application from the players.
I agree we were better in the first half but we should give Steve Bruce credit for changing the game by bringing on 3 substitutes at half time and pushing us back for long periods.
It was easy to see why Blackpool were pushing for the play offs and, like others, I thought they would probably go on yo win after they got the equaliser.
Fortunately we weathered the storm and what's not to like about a last minute winner?
Lots of good individual performances but Sibley was man of the match for me. Certainly his best performance so far in a Rotherham shirt.
    Looking forward to Bolton now.

Hammy kept in the home dugout so he's got me onside! Liked his introduction as manager to the home fans. Anything we get the next 2 away games it's a bonus with our limited match day squad we can put out.

Thought Sibley was anonymous first half. Suspect he had a half time rollicking and was a transformed player thereafter. Agree about Mpanzou.Seems to be playing to keep himself fit and no more.

'Rollicking' now that's the word I should have used on my least favoured post of late.

I would be surprised if he doesn?t change it next season.

There were some old fashioned tackles going in by Sibley on Saturday. It was a joy to watch and a joy to see the reaction of the Blackpool players in the way they reacted to them.
    Proper football 👍

Doubt he will. He's not Warney!
