Hello, hello
It's good to be back, it's good to be back
Personally for the record and acting as a peace maker - I think it's totally cool to express a bit of vexation, frustration etc. Like it's f***ing frustrating business supporting Notts (and to be fair most teams). That said I think ThaiPie has a valid point - as in some people come across super ****ing doom and gloom and we want the Super Notts to do well and that needs a fair bit of optimism.. Personally I find it depressing when people are already decided that Maynard is ****, Notts are ****, we can't ever go up, only 3057 people will turn up for the play off game, the owners are evil, the recruitment team are clueless etc etc...because actually these are ****ing alright times (by most standards - and by that I mean well well well above average for the 45 years I've watched Notts).
I think you see it on most social platforms, people who have an issue vent more than people who basically think things are ok or even good.
I?ve found it draining all season as I think a lot was unfounded. The fact now we aren?t creating as many chances the negativity has finally caught up with me and I?ve almost lost interest.
I?ll be at the home game and might even try to get to Wimbledon, but the snowball effect this season I literally can?t remember feeling this underwhelmed about a playoff campaign.
The truth is no one?s in cracking form in the playoffs and I imagine a lot feel the same, no more so than Walsall fans.
I will be up between 2am and 4.30am to watch this one. Some might say this is harder than popping down to the Lane on a spring afternoon.
Without a doubt the people who are most critical, negative and moan the most online are obviously the most encouraging , positive and cheer the loudest on match days. That?s a given isn?t it? They go hand in hand.
It?s a whole season in 2 hopefully 3 games for 4 teams. The Salfords, Grimsbys and Colchesters on this season sure would love to be in them even in very poor form.
All we can do is give full support and be as vocal as possible to try and influence the players, officials and the game to our advantage. It?s our only input. Once the season is over then the review and the complaints and moaning can begin. Can?t see any reason or more important benefit to do it before then
Although I share your pessimism? there is also so optimism too? Walsall literally won there first game in forever last week? chesterfield scraped in to the playoffs doing what Notts have done, beating those teams at the bottom. Wimbledon beat Grimsby, as did we.
I don?t look at the playoff teams, Notts included, and think 1 team stands out.
Didz being back will be a huge boost. That Jatta goal on Saturday might just give him some confidence. JJ got more minutes in his legs, but we haven?t seen anything of him being close to his best.
Abbott is key.
