I know things are done on the QT when it comes to. T/fs. But why all this *****footing around. Surely our chairman can call their chairman and tell him e.g. we’ll accept ?1.5m + a 15% sell on or ?1.75m and no sell on. Take it or leave it. Problem solved in a 5m call. If accepted down to player then.
You can’t tell me they don’t have a figure in mind so just tell em ar much.

I seem to think the common sense answer to what you are saying is that they want to keep it on the QT because they do not want to reveal their hand to any other prospective buyer , that makes sense to me and seems to be the rule of thumb for transfers through out the EFL.

Ultimately the power is with the player in my opinion .

As anyone thought Luca may not fancy the move.

To be honest I have only read rumours on fans forums and social media that we were interested in him, I have not read anything in the press suggesting that we are linked with him or seen or heard anything at all so I am not sure if we trying to sign him or not, our current way of things of doing things is to announce it when it happens and not expecting it such as Mcgoldrick last week , I never saw or read any speculation about potentially signing him .

BARNSLEY are set to miss out on the signing of Josh Koroma - with the striker now expected to move elsewhere despite a deal having been agreed with the Oakwell club a few weeks ago.

The former Huddersfield Town forward, who left the West Yorkshire club at the end of last season, had been lined up for a move to the Reds, with the 26-year-old understood to have agreed terms and passed a medical and completed media duties ahead of his switch to Oakwell being officially signed off.

The deal would have seen Koroma become one of the highest earners at the club.
But significant last-minute changes to elements of the deal plunged the move into unexpected doubt and despite the best efforts of Barnsley to resurrect the transfer, Koroma is now poised to join another club.

I sniff a whiff of an agent playing off club against club , if he signs then thats fine and if he doesn"t then that is also fine, as Animal said in an earlier post the players hold the cards and they pay an agent to get them the best deal , I get a bit fed up of it all to be honest as I am convinced a lot of the players are pinching a living and do not give two hoots about their employers , there are a lot of over paid prima dona"s out there , give me a hungry young player and at least you will get honest endeavour in return.

Bit like buying a house really, nothing confirmed until contracts exchanged and as you say his agent probably got a better offer somewhere else at the last minute. We?ve got a similar situation at Bolton where the club had agreed terms with a Swedish player Ceesay and his club before the players Iranian agent got involved and messed things up including threatening violence to his clubs DoF! I agree about agents but that?s the way of things these days I?m afraid and not all agents have the players best interests at heart. Most annoying is that clubs pay the agents not the players! (

Looks like most of the candidates for moving on are doing so.

Good for Hourihane, now he needs backing to bring in better recruits.
