obviously zero understanding of the rivalry that this fixture holds from their players who appeared ignorant of the history books looking at their inept performance. a great spirited gutsy display from the lads in the way we went about our gameplan tonight.

big respect to Farke and our fans tonight for not letting our boys ever forget how significant this game was for us in the lead up this last week. a damn good result considering our injuries.
another dose of that for Wembley against Chelsea please, another team in our little black book who need reminding we are back in town.

We were obviously watching different games. For 15 minutes we were playing as we did after half time at City, aggressive, adventurous, confident, then we switched off for the next 15, letting them back in and playing the excruciatingly boring tippy-tappy that has cost us dearly of late. Then we switch back again and lo and behold we get a second. Why the switch? It's about how a mind-set of "Game management" has been instilled in the players. They rediscovered the freedom they have enjoyed during the latter part of the first half.

Playing much of the second half against ten men that "Game management" mentality surfaced again. Chances were created for sure but throughout the team most likely to score did just that and gave us a "squeaky bum" last few minutes.

Substitutions.....really? Farke has, rightly, been roundly criticised for who and when players are subbed. Tonight was no exception. Neither player subbed showed any signs of fatigue, quite the opposite, and had proved "problematic" for Scum. Their replacements, despite what we might hope for from Gnonto particularly, were ineffectual. Why Aronsson wasn't pulled is a mystery.

Had we been up against a full strength Scum side who were "on it" (and they weren't, by any measure), we'd have come away empty-handed.

Let's not start believing our own publicity.

But the questions remain, why can't it be like this all the time, and why have we still relegation worries.
Nobody is a doom and gloom merchant by choice. It happens when you can see how things could be better but the people who matter, can't.
Anyway, let's rejoice warm glowing warmth of Monday night football.

Can I also add, as a doom merchant, when you’re 2-0 up against 10 men, regardless of the opposition, you shouldn’t be shyting yourself for the last half hour.

Just saw the post match interview with Michael Carrick. Complained about the refereeing 1st goal. Complained about the refereeing for the sending off. Called it "shocking". No class whatsoever.

Aaronson?s decision making is feckn pathetic. He pretty much fails to make the pass before they continually took the ball off him. If he released the ball when even Stevie Wonder can see it, match would have been put to bed by HT.

Took the words out of my mouth. He just didn't make the right pass at the right time.

The Aaronson project reminds me quite a bit of the Tyler Roberts project.

Can't bring yourself to congratulate the team you sad fk
A bottom 4 squad, i don't care how we do it, survive for 3 seasons... some of you think we have a top 4 squad... AO gave them 2 chances in first 5 minutes, Willie almost cost us a goal late on.... a bang below average side giving it al for each other... if you've ever played, 10 men usually makes it tougher ...brilliant Mighty Super Whites... all the doomers on here eat some humble pie

Exactly. As always we effectively play with 10 men every time he plays.
