Apart from a youth player potentially going out there are NO rumours of players coming in and NO news from the club on the contract status of current key players.
There are 12 days before our season begins at Kelty.
Whilst it would be nice to hear we are looking at x, y & z, the club have been hammered for leaking names in the past - GMS, Hayes, Safranko to name just three last season, so it's a bit of a no win.
I would have liked us to be a bit more active by this stage however, especially after TA's & Tam's comment on us having a vast scouting network that tracks players for months & years prior to us signing them. Surely we know by now who we are wanting to sign if this is the case and we'd have seen some movement? Instead we get a 35 year old centre half when we already have four centre halves at the club.
Tbf I'm not bothered about rumours I'm more wanting to see announcements.
Based on nothing but hunch I wonder if one or two targets have walked away after we appointed a rookie manager. Would hope not.
IMO important we keep hold of Robson - no other decent left back and he still has potential
If Benji goes we need a top goalkeeper
Priority is wide midfielders - particularly any with pace and creativity
Really don't know if utd are skint or loaded but from what have seen on here and other places money is pretty tight MO has punted in £6 million or so and does not have or is not willing to just punt millions and millions in every year.No Idea about Hibs,Aberdeen or Dundee's finances you could probably find them all out from the dee finanial experts but they all lose players too if bigger clubs come in for them
Is it actually crap though that we might be skint? AraBrian is correct in "how do we get them to stay without offering money we can't afford?"
There has to be that fine balance to show ambition and improving the team while watching the cash flow, and all you need to do is look up the road for proof of what happens when it all goes wrong.
Its a bit gutting that Benji may be on his way, but thats the reality of our existence that we have to sell assets, and if Fuchs and Robson have tempting offers on the table, the money may fund 1 or 2 extras in the squad for positions we think need to be filled.
