Seems a very reasonable request to want to verify to the taxpayers that it's there.

The US gold holding valued at estimated at $500,000,000 so it's not really going to make much a dent on the $37,000,000,000,000 deficit. However, the reputational damage to the US would be immense.
I heard about the rumours of gold being not there etc. Guess we will find out very soon.
The value of gold against the debt is correct. That's why I could see a revaluation of the value of gold. Time will tell.
UK is fcuked anyway. We sold all ours for the lowest price in history a while ago....

FWIW Msk is doing this to get to Mars. Everything he does s geared toward getting humans another base off the planet. He?s done more to get man to space than any human ever has. A little more noble cause than the banal crap you have been fed by the media
    Who you talking too?

    Oz,

sorry for confusion. was responding to the post on Musk doing this for some government contracts. These contracts would amount to peanuts given the size of his empire. He's sure not making money doing this DOGE thing. I admire his desire to do the right thing but it's costing him billions in revenue given that half the country hates his guts for cutting spending. Not good business on his part. Like Michael Jordan used to say "republicans buy sneakers too".

Probably right but some also say you need money to spend money. He isn't stupid and like you say he does it for the country as he can afford to give money away shows real passion like him or not you have to admire him just like trump. The amount of money USA gives all over the world is mind boggling. So called other country spokesman should not even question USA motives as they help no one if at all it's farke all. Money given to Iran and the Arbs ffs the richest countries in the world wtf. They speak up about USA need to to this and that and we can't do anything with out them, than they question why they had a meeting with the Russians alone. He isn't stupid and has the smartest brain with him I'm sure in the long run he will rain in the deficit. Ohh And our x pm Morrison the most corrupt and untrustworthy PM even has put us on the bad books as he did a backflip on aluminum deal with the USA. Just like he did with the subs with France. In other news China war ships are circling Australia 150 kms off the Sydney shores me things this third world war will delete most of the populations and those holocaust future films are ever so my closer.
Also musk may be the richest man in the world but you have a Jewish family there that runs rings around him and people in the know say they run the USA. Don't know if its true or not but from knowing the jews and how they operate I wouldn't doubt. The Walton Family have gone from 330 billion to 430 billion in just two years, If you don't know who they are there main business is Walmart.

This doesn?t even include the $100,000,000,000 of local and state liabilities that the goverment creatively lists as ?investments?. Accounting practices that would get you and I thrown in jail my the rest of our lives but they get pensions for life for these Ponzi schemes. Most are pensions so when they collapse the retirees will get worthless money just like the Weimar Republic issued. We will also suffer because they could exercise eve. The most basic financial prudence with the money they stole from our paychecks
Yes Musk is categorised as a Special Employee, thus avoiding conflict of interest rules. You seem to think everyone outside the states gets duped with bias news. The world is a lot smaller these days than when I first started travelling to States 40 years ago with business and a collecting hobby. There?s many news sites (some with much better trust ratings than others), family, friends living there of both main parties. I?ve no bias towards either side as I don?t live there. But however you dress it up, there is clear conflicts of interest.

Europe won't accept what the turncoat Trump proposals for Ukraine might be, and will accept the need to plug the gap left by the lully-livered USA, even if it is acceptable to the redneck cowards that selected this juvenile geriatric. No matter what you might think of us, there is more spine and integrity to be found here than ever there would be in your isolationist, protectionist ""sea to shining sea" dimwits. Beware what you wish for.

Hummm WTF wtf he is the only politician with balls as for your own backyard how's the mayor of London I heard the Muslim mayor told you folks to gagf you do as he says his the boss. Also he preaches hate and to kill all non believers if they don't convert I think they call us infidels.(a person who has no religion or whose religion is not that of the majority.) How's the takeover going and the how do you feel by been colonized as your great ancestor's turn in there graves? Trump is actually doing something even Australia is going to cop it as our old prime minister screwed them with lies about aluminum and rightly so. Your talking about a country which spends billions around the world while most of Europe just talk. All politicians here have quickly turned and want to be trump like but all are wimps with no balls. While they clean up the mess created your country and most others like ours are been conquered by idealist criminals and haters. best to fix owns mess before worrying about others countries people and calling them dim wits for actually doing something.

The exile is back - shorter break than usual. Shocker - lots of politicos talk nonsense. Even more bizarre lots of people talk nonsense.

Whether yiu support him or oppose him Trump draws strong reactions and the reaction from the EU and UK speaking with more of a united voice which perhaps wouldn?t have happened but for Trump doing what he did. Not saying I agree with what is being said but at least it provoked a response and possible actual action to resolve the conflict.

Ukraine is decimated to the east and the West?s strategy seemed to have at least a large element of weakening Russia as opposed to ensuring Ukraine won.

The modern world seems to love talking endlessly about issues and problems without necessarily seeking to solve them or actually do anything about them.

How can you solve things European breaking news today . Multiple cities under Islamic attack. English breaking news Labor wants the 3 kid murderer freed. problems solved hope. No matter how you look at it the Islamic preaching is finally taking effect and we all know who's at fault. Lebanese want there land back because it's the birth of Jesus but they believe in 2 pedophiles go figure. Syria Afghanistan and other nearer countries were all Christian once bet people don't know that. hope what they sad was true and jesus will come back to save us all and hope it's in the form of trump otherwise we are all farked.

    Feel free to step up.

Some estimates are that we've sent the corrupt, crooked country $500,000,000,000 with no accountablity. No problem however since zelensky's wife just bought a 4 million bughatti and has a billion dollars in the bank. I"m sure they'll take your pounds just as easily as they take dollars.

I've noticed that Europe is full of big talk until it comes time to get your wallet out. Then you end up with the T rex arms. Let the "cowardly yanks" pay for it. Enjoy your brave talk when it comes time to start paying for your defense. It's a big ticket item. You know what's gutless and cowardly? when it's time to step up and defend your homeland and pay for it and you count on another country to pay for it. Enjoy spending your own money to fight off the Russians, Chinese and the religion of peace.

The days of the yanks paying for everything are over. The world is going to be a lot different and, frankly, a lot more peaceful without us acting as the worlds policeman.
