Like I said, I wouldn't trust any of them. They all lie and weave webs

Sue Gray, the former top civil servant who led the Partygate inquiry into Boris Johnson, went into talks to work with Sir Keir Starmer last October months before she officially quit.

The ex-Cabinet Office fixer has now been cleared in a report to work for Starmer as early as September.

It means that despite her intimate knowledge of the government's plans and timetable she will only have had to wait six months since dramatically stepping down.
Jeremy Quin, boldly entitled: "Prima facie breach of the Civil Service code by the former Second Permanent Secretary for the Union and the Constitution".

They claim it will confirm that both Sue Gray and Labour broke civil service rules by failing to inform the government about job discussions for four months.

Another source says: "Officials are pretty embarrassed by her and how little time she’s got. They had said she should get [minimum] a year and would have advised even longer".

"A bad day for civil service."

Looks like Ben Stokes must be a Tory - careless and leading a load of incompetents?

Don’t understand your latest conspiracy theory, Tricky.
Sue Grey has done nothing wrong. Johnson appointed her and told everyone how capable she was...until he didn’t like her findings.
Civil Servants advise and implement Government policy. Protecting Tory Party secrets isn’t part of her brief.
She is free to seek alternative employment.
No different from anyone who leaves one organisation/company/club to be employed by a rival...imo.

It was supposed to be about impartiality RA.
Obviously Grey had double agent intentions. Johnson obviously didn't see the red running through her and Starmer did.

They met a long time before what they claimed.
Again I'll say it. Trust them? Not on your life

Come on Tricky, clearly nothing improper, even Starmer himself says so

Of course they ‘met’ a long time ago...she’s an experienced senior Civil Servant and he’s a former DPP...but ‘double agent intentions’? Nonsense. She was employed by Johnson to do one job and, for want of a better word, ‘poached’ by Starmer to do another.
Have to admit...Starmer makes a hash of speaking to Nick whatever his name is.

I really doubt there was any bias in her report, Johnson hung himself really. And doubt her job is a reward for her findings. As you say Starmer looks poor in the interview, and this is what annoys me with politicians, not getting a straight answer, because if you don't you assume the worst.

I love LBC to be fair, James O'Brien especially, politicians rarely come out of interviews looking good. The tories just give them so much ammunition.

Agreed...although, tbh, I rarely listen to LBC.

For someone I’d never heard of before the Johnson appointment, Sue Gray seems a very formidable woman. If Johnson didn’t know of any ‘red running through her’ he only has himself to blame (again) as her son is Chair of the Labour Party Irish Society...something he clearly should have been aware of if he’d done his ‘homework’.
