How do people rate our initial response of herd immunity? Changed quick when Imperial College profilling showed it could lead to 250,000 deaths. Are we getting all the info we need to make valued choices?

Here's something a bit more important Ladapo and Price self isolating:

These are some of the startling observations in a report released on 28 February from a mission organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Chinese government that allowed 13 foreigners to join 12 Chinese scientists on a tour of five cities in China to study the state of the COVID-19 epidemic and the effectiveness of the country’s response.

I think other world leaders will do well to get on the China.

"A group of 300 Chinese intensive-care doctors began to arrive in Italy on Wednesday, one of several Chinese offers to support epidemic-stricken European countries, as China tries to rebrand itself internationally from source of the new coronavirus to a friendly helper."

Howdy and Kerr need to read this. Yes it is not denying it is authoritarian but it looks positive doesn't it. We should not dismiss this out of hand if it is bringing results. Not saying it would work and it may be severe. And no I'm not suggesting we carry on following this model.

Come on lads what do you think?

Maybe they do have a vaccine. Hmmmmm. Where's James Bond when you need him?

China had lockdowns in hotspot areas. So, lockdowns in 3 of the 34 provences. They tracked and traced every individual. This seems to be what stopped the spread going throughout the country.

They acted early. It would appear you only get one chance and that is at the outset. We seemed to have missed that chance as our strategy was to allow the virus to spread create herd emunity. Italy acted late and lost track of cases.

The second part of the China strategy was brilliant healthcare. New hospitals opened and they shifted health care workers from all parts of China to those hotspots.

Does sound as though they made a fast and effective response to the problem. Time will tell. We would be daft not to listen to their methodology at least.

If China have stopped testing people, maybe they have no 'new cases'

In any other scenario, there is no way they have stopped this virus spreading. Not without a vaccine that works.

I don't trust any government but it's clear they're all sh!t scared. I'll assume we're getting more truth from the Western World than we are from further afield. Just a hunch. We'll see and for once (and it will be once) I hope you're right.

Take heed because the gravity of this outbreak definitely hasn't sunk in yet and it's definitely not the time to be knocking anyone.
So why knock China? Surely we can look at what theyve done and learn.

I've already stated that I stand to be corrected.

Don't believe the claims. If the virus spreads from person to person and populates as reported, I'd be amazed.

Hope I'm wrong and fair play if they've got on top of it.
