... and that's the reason the MPs will elect a new leader. They have already said the new PM will be known (by) next Friday. That doesn't leave sufficient time for the party membership to have a say. Good job too.
If it goes to the membership, MA...it’ll be Johnson, imo.
If he gets the support of 100 MP’s I’m afraid that is the way it’ll go. If he isn’t certain of that level of support then I suspect he won’t run.
Should he get that support and go on to win then the politics of the Conservative Party will be the politics of the gutter. Just five months ago he was ditched on the basis of serial dishonesty and appalling judgement. Most of his Cabinet resigned and he lost the support of almost 150 of his own MP’s.
What’s changed? Only that the Conservative Party has become more desperate on an almost daily basis.

Just looked at the "next PM odds" and it looks to be a one horse race for Sunak. Whilst there I noticed the odds for the party with the most seats at the next election. No surprise in the top 2 or in what order, but the LibDems were 200-1 and the Reclaim Party just 100-1 !!
I'm guess that there aren't many people called Hosking in the country, but rA now has reason to dislike two of them at least!!
Had to look him up. Went from the Tories to Vote Leave to the Brexit Party to the Reclaim Party...supports Palace and is a mate of Laurence Fox.
Yep...I doubt we’d get on.
I guess the odds are as such because they can’t see the Liberals picking up many Labour votes in the current circumstances and some dissatisfied Tories might be looking for another bonkers Party. Is this the new UKIP?

I guess it's a sort of reincarnation of UKIP but know very little about it. But at least if they were to go into administration they wouldn't need to change the name on the cheque book
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's going to be Sunak.
I really don't think the Torai are daft enough to re-elect BoJo.
I really, really hope you’re right. But all it takes is 100 MP’s to fancy themselves as having a better chance of re-election under Johnson than someone else and that’s, as I understand things, where it’ll go.
Don’t think it matters what the other 250 odd think...if he gets the support of 100 and there’s at least two candidates it’ll go to the membership and just look at their voting record.
Can hear deals being done at this very moment and not helped by Ben Wallace urging people to back Johnson.

what is the point of Ben Wallace?
