Is Louis Moult not a bit too similar to Rooney? As in he is pretty much just a goal poacher with possibly a little more pace.

I will be honest and say I haven't really seen that much of Moult but I would have thought Rooney was better than him.

The most sensible thing to do with that £500k is to lump it on Celtic winning the treble

What happened to the lad Morris we got from Dumpdee Utd is he still no fit??
He left halfway through the season and ended up at Dunfermline

Do we really want to sign a guy who's got injury problems and who we don't have an obvious place in the team for at present anyway? I'm referring to Maloney here. May is not much different, except there's probably more risk with him in that we'd be paying a pretty hefty fee by our standards. Got a feeling May might potentially end up with us on loan for 6 months or a year rather than permanently now that Alex Neil is at Preston. We do need a different option from Rooney (poacher) and Stockley (target man) for up front though - someone a bit more mobile who can get in behind. I wonder if O'Hallaron is still a possibility? Not a great fan of his but provides something different.

I was quite keen on Moult, but then we easily marked him out of the game our when we last played Motherwell, so left not so sure.
His goal scoring record is pretty admirable for a Motherwell team. 36 in 76 games

I never saw the first leg so I'll take your word for that.
My concern would be the lack of options.

We're a centre half short and a wide player short at least, as well as a striker.
Also, Rooney is the only striker - Stockley is suspended, and Story, well you'd be better than him
Stewart is half fit by all accounts, but likelihood is that the two players that will be wide in the 4-2-3-1 would be Christie & a half fit Stewart. Wright is injured and might not have kicked a ball by that game either.
Your confidence is good, but bear in mind we scraped by a sh1te Fola Esch and were a post away from an away goals humiliation this time last year.

Yeah thats a decent record he has for Motherwell. It could work 2 ways if we were to sign him,

He would be playing with better players at Aberdeen and he could score even more goals for us or he wouldn't get as much space as he does at Motherwell with teams more likely to sit in against us than they do against a pretty poor Motherwell side. Resulting in a Miles Storey scenario.

Miles Storey scored some good goals for ICT and although you could argue he hasn't been given enough game time with us,the chances he has been given he's been pysh. Im sure if he ends up at Kilmarnock he will score 10 -15 goals for them.

Indeed, different players are more effective at differing clubs.

I'm not yet ready to discount Storey as I think there can be a very good player in him
Hayes was not great in his first year and hoping Storey goes on to make the impact Hayes did in his subsequent years.

From what I've seen of Storey, I'd be staggered if he makes an impact.
Headless chicken with no touch and no game intelligence at all.
As for his finishing, least said the better.
He's a Killie player at best. ICT was his level.
We need to admit our mistake and let him go - which I think will happen when we sign a new striker.

Storey not really had much of a chance in the first team. However, presumably hasn't impressed at all in training and will probably be shipped out.

Real sickener with May. Think we were on verge of a deal before Grayson went to Sunderland. I think Neil will want to keep him. His stats at Hamilton were pretty impressive when he was there on loan and I don't think Preston have a huge amount of money for marquee signings compared to some of the bigger Championship sides.
