And as someone pointed out to me why does Nelms keep referring to Dens as a 19 th century stadium when no part of the current Dens was built in the 19th century?
I think your long standing opinion that we will end up at Tannadice either permanent or temporarily is becoming a distinct possibility. Dens has two maybe three seasons at best in its current condition unless we just use the two stands behind the goal until the planned new stadium is built.

I just want people to be more alive to the danger.......which I believe will become fairly apparent if planning turned down.

If they do start building it the threat swings onto utd as I think they will be very tempted to get involved.

There is no way that Dundee United will get involved as Mark Ogren when he purchased majority ownership of the Dundee United Football Company Limited spent four million, eight hundred thousand pound redeeming all the Standard securities held over Tannadice Park and surrounding areas of Tannadice Park as a result of MMJ selling them to wealthy supporters. Mark Ogren would never be able to reclaim this outlay if he tried to sell Tannadice Park which would probably have social housing built on the site.

And A shares won't ultimately save us from moving to tannadice........stall at best.

But it's worst case scenario which I obviously hope will never happen

Now we will get down to the nitty gritty regarding the new stadium development at the former NCR Camperdown playing fields.
During the Q and A section of a Dee4life AGM held by zoom during Covid the subject of the new stadium development which at the time was costing twenty million pounds came up for discussion.
A Dee4life member at the AGM who had worked in this field stated that despite part of the site which was allocated for private housing being sold to a large house building firm for six million pounds there was not enough value in the remainder of the site.
If there was not enough value in the new stadium development site when it was costing twenty million pounds to build everything there will certainly not be enough value when the latest cost according to John Nelms is ninety five million pounds.
I have never heard nor can I find any financial companies or banks advertising mortgages lasting 100 years on commercial property on the Internet despite John Nelms stating that there will be a 100 years mortgage on the site of the new stadium development.
Shortly before the second pre application meeting in the Landmark Hotel, Dundee at the end of September 2022 John Nelms stated in the media that his new stadium development was almost fully funded and if any borrowings were required the financial companies in the City of London could easily provide these funds.
Two months later the Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited directors borrowed funds secured against their new stadium development site at the former NCR Camperdown playing fields from the Isle of Man based financial company Soho Green at an annual interest rate of between 9% and 24%.
In my opinion John Nelms on behalf of Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited needs to start explaining how the new stadium development at the former NCR Camperdown playing fields is going to be financed bearing in mind that when it was was costing ?20 million there was not enough value in the site. John Nelms also needs to explain in full what exactly Dundee Football Club will be receiving from the profits from sales in the restaurants and bars in the new stadium. Will Dundee Football Club be receiving all the profits which happens in Dens Park, a percentage of the profits or none of the profits which will be used to repay the loans to pay for the cost of building the new stadium.
Dundee Football Club could be in a worse position financially than at present with them still having to pay an annual rental plus being responsible for all repairs and improvements to the new stadium which happens at present under the terms of their lease with Sandeman Properties Limited.
Dundee supporters should remove their rose tinted spectacles and prepare for a worst case scenario if the new stadium development in the former NCR Camperdown playing fields is never built.
At least 10 years ago a rainy day fund should have been set up by Dundee FC supporters just in case Tim Keyes stopped financing Dundee Football Club Limited.

Actually, John Nelms doesn't have to explain anything to me, you or any other Dundee fan. He never has and he never will.

Some of us suspect a car crash just around the next bend however most Dundee fans seem to still have total trust in John Nelms. I have no idea why so many trust him but they do. Let's hope he knows what he's doing because hope is, I believe, all we have.

Like you I fail to understand why so many Dundee fans still have total trust in John Nelms.
Sadly they will be the first to complain if their dreams of a new stadium turn to dust.

John nelms " dosent have to explain " is exactly why there has never been a connection between the yanks and the main body of the Kirk.

Unfortunately I think he's cost us plenty of regular fans over the last decade.....

Yup without a doubt...not just his lack of communication, out of touch pricing ie season tickets and PATG when it was an option and his total disregard for the ordinary Dee fan over the years, whom many forked out for hospo club events, etc etc.

Another one that got to me was letting his stadium manager treat home fans like she ite and let away fans away with all sorts of shenanigans over his term in charge.
