A definite no from me. I can't see it working when the assistant would have far more respect than the bloke above him. Also McGoldrick deserves better than starting his coaching career with a millstone around his neck.

If S M is here in August we are likely to do what Manchester United did hang on to useless manager, spend all our transfer money and then have to Sack S M. ( If you continue do what S M does tactical you will get the same results crap football.) Then appoint a new manager with no money for transfers and expect them to get promotion. Another wasted session in league 2

I said on another thread that this coming close season will be a true test of the owners ambitions. A repeat of the player depth shortcomings this season (and to a certain degree last season as well) cannot be allowed to happen again or they will lose a large slice of credibility.
As for the calls for LW to be reappointed? Yer havin a laugh!

The the record, I still think it's ridiculous to want to ditch a manager who got us into the playoffs, and I still think with better luck with injuries we'd have gone up automatically this season.

The strategy's working. I would like to see better squad depth next season, but hopefully we're not as injury-dogged as well.

Typical grovelling young supporter who has zero idea of how things are done in the real world. Bless.

I'm assuming you didn't attend many games then? It wasn't injuries that forced us to play turgid, walking pace football. I can't remember a single game where I was entertained for the whole 90 minutes. I bang on about Williams but he made players better, he turned Chicken from a left back to a free scoring wing back, Maynard played a left footed wing back who prefers to attack on the right nullifying his effectiveness and making us weak in the wing defensively... I'll let you decide who that player was but there are several correct answers. It's not injuries that cost us automatic promotion

    Truth

We all know, the team that kicked the last ball this season was much weaker than the team that kicked the last ball last season. If Bros want to continue this tippy tappy fantasy, then they need to provide players that can actually do it. Players with experience. Players, and "coach" that can deliver. Not kids. Not have never beens. Basically, Bros have funded an expensive **** show. It's not good enough. If owners have a brand, that's fine. But get your cheque book out and pay for players that can deliver now. No projects. Customers move on from products they don't like. Or, get a manager that is able to shape a a squad. Wrexham were our peers. Now it's probably more like Newport.
