    The response would be that we failed to go up because Bostock, Scott and someone else missed their penalty kick!

    If Bostock felt that was his best chance of scoring from the spot he was 100% entitled to go for it. The logic worked because Fitzsimons went the other way, but Bostock chipped it 3 inches too high. He could have blasted it and still hit the bar. Scott's penalty was the least convincing of the ones we scored because if Fitzsimons had guessed right it was a routine save, but who cares? That penalty shootout was as stressful as it gets, but I only remember the heroes. Luke Williams for bringing Archie Mair on, Mair for his brilliant saves, Macca, Ruben and Jodi for their clinical finishes and Cedwyn for excorsising the ghost of Wrexham. I still get nervous when I watch the replays!

    Absolutely, hopefully today's younger Notts supporters will remember that day like older supporters remember the Warnock finals, days to remember for the rest of our lives!!!

    He did though. So we can say that Bostock was otherwise the best player on the field, we'd have never even reached that point without him and it meant Cedwyn getting to take the winning kick after what happened in the Wrexham game, so I'm glad he did it.

    Good luck to him - always seemed like a lovely guy and he played a major role in getting us out of the NL.

    A very gifted footballer and a nice guy too. Always welcomed whenever he returns to his old clubs.

    As stated elsewhere family oriented decision because of locations and salary a secondary factor.

    Apparently Will Randall too was on trial at Swindon but realised prior to the friendly v Eastleigh.

    There are loads of examples, time to move on...
    Yep, if he had put the free kick wide as it was quite a way out and with not long left to go some people would have branded it stupid not putting the cross in. The guys obviously extremely confident, probably the only one in that final initially as others faltered but people always want to pick fault.

    From me, exactly the same. Scott clearly has a couple of go to penalties (that we’ve seen) given the Wrexham and Wembley evidence presented to us.

    On the face of it, Scott’s penalty looks ‘the worst one’. It’s head down and roll in. But there’ll be all sorts of analysis that goes into it. Look at Fitzsimons;

    Goes right for Macca; incorrect.

    Stands for Ruben - This clearly shows they know Ruben tries to do a goalie early and then go opposite, but RF can’t figure it. Ruben took what, 11 pens during the season, that’s masses of evidence.

    Goes left for Jones; correct but too good a pen.

    Goes left for Bostock; incorrect.

    At this point, whoever goes fifth is probably thinking, based on some analysis, that RF probably won’t go left three times in a row. He goes right, Scott goes where he goes and we go up. But Scott, who the staff know will probably (not 100% certain, of course) be on the pitch at this point, can also comfortably take pens both ways. Makes him an ideal fifth.

    In fairness for the Rodrigues penalty, he normally did a faint so he was waiting for that, except RR had missed his last couple I believe so he just hit it this time bamboozling him as he was waiting for the faint
