No one, as far as I'm aware, as ever officially given the cost of a migrant on benefits per person, per year, probably due to how much each individual case can vary.

If going by your logic here, I could equally say that government figures say that the cost to the tax payer per person per year is actually ?50. And when you rightfully call that "*******s" I could say "well it must be true because you can't prove otherwise".

It's all nonsense, but because it suits people's agenda in building public resentment towards migrants, people spread it regardless, even if they know it's not true.
I thought migrants were good for the economy? That suits an agenda. It could be true but how do we know and to what extent?

Most people on here have been hard working family people that have provided the best they possible could do to raise a family often I would suggest going without at times to fulfill what they were brought up to believe.

Having someone living a life on benefits living a life equivalent to them without lifting a finger is understandable frustrating.

Although Kerr saw the other side of the coin and s suggested people using benefits for what they are and were designed to do and provide for is an easy misunderstanding of what people see on housing estates.

He is of course correct but unfortunately the abuse of the benefit system is rife and the easiest people threatened by the loss of their benefits are often the most in need.
I don't doubt there's resentment and frustration amongst many people who view the unemployable the way they do and of course it is understandable especially when you work long hours and have to make sacrifices to make ends meet .

Working class society has changed drastically since I was growing up in the 70's , any kids father that didn't work when I was at school were ridiculed and put down although it never occurred to many of us that they may well be a genuine reason for that such as serious ill health or a disability .

There was more pride about than there is today , if your kids misbehaved it was a sense of shame you felt , everyone kept a clean home and gardens were kept up to , folk didn't have as much as today but they had pride and respect for themselves .

We have to remind ourselves even though nostalgia often tells you different that people really did struggle to make ends meet , if you went to Great Yarmouth for a holiday you were considered posh whilst the rest of us went without or managed a dreadful caravan at Skeggy and were limited to a few pence a day for the amusements.

The only benefits my parents had was the old family allowance and my dad often worked 7 days a week .

Maybe we have gone too far with benefits and created an entitled sector of society , maybe we have created more problems than we've solved by protecting illness such as mental health for instance .

Maybe many need to refrain from the pity party and get on with it or maybe we shouldn't make it so easy to have a pity party .

Progress yes for sure but at a cost in many other ways too .

Then there’s the other feature of those days, council houses. A system where you put your name down on the council houses waiting list and after a wait ( sometimes a long one) you got yourself a decent house at a reasonable rate.

Now councils are building new ones and as soon as they are built they are sticking migrants in them. No waiting for them

Would you trust a council to build a housing scheme nowadays?
They used to build pubs, shops, schools and play areas where kids and families alike could go in safety.

They used to build the foundations of communities where life long ties were made.

People used to be welcoming and problem families were invited to fyck off!

This triple stabbing was made an illegal migrant, who arrived here five years ago.The Home Office is completely useless, they allowed him to stay here..One of these victims is dead, another one fighting for his life and a four**** year old stabbed is also in a bad way. This pathetic govt. is not protecting the native Brits anymore. How much worse does it get before we get tough and stop this.NB.The Liberal/Green party that control the council, made it a council that encouraged this by making it a city of sanctuary. What a pathetic shower !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
