I was surprised myself that Bostock wasn't offered a new contract, I don't believe it was wages if you look at player earnings for 2023 Bostock was seventh in the earnings chart, so it had to be some other reason because at 32 he still had something to offer for sure. Having said that his performance levels dropped off in the second half of last season coincidentally after Williams left.

Bostock looked quicker on the ball than he really was due to his habit of trotting while passing sideways and back when not under pressure.

Is anyone surprised JOB hasn’t found a club? I thought he might get a year somewhere at NL level, but I guess there are plenty of younger options out there.

I said similar on his ‘leaving’ thread, but it was a pleasure watching Bostock play for Notts.

Some proper Rolls Royce outings and my word he was so good at Wembley. That free kick will live long in the memory.

On his day he was class. Sadly time has caught up with him. Unless you have players around him to do all the dirty work you won't get the same performances we grew accustomed to.

We have lost a lot of experience. I feel losing all of Brinds, JoB, Rawlo and Boz at the same time leaves a big gap in the squad. They were all in their own way instrumental in helping Notts steady the ship before securing Notts promotion. Add to that the newly named Skipper being transferred and the ex skipper being loaned out and that’s a lot of dressing room influence gone.

We have bought in some experience though but can’t argue they were all good guys and for me Bostock would have been the one to stay as I think he still had something to offer on the pitch and clearly a very positive influence off it.

I was very surprised to see Bostock has more appearances for us then any other of his previous teams.

Wish him well but he looked somewhat off the pace towards the end of last season.

I don't think he would make much impact as a sub either so the right call to let him go.

It wasn't the right call in my opinion, would of given him another 12 months.

It was definitely the right call to let him go. He was losing possession too many times which in some case cost us goals..
