Just because he wore the number 10, doesn't mean he's an actual number 10, he played very deep last night.

I really liked him, wouldn't mind him playing alongside flood

The trialist wore 10 but he's very much a 'number 8'. He's probably being looked at instead of Fyvie but expect McKinnon to sign two players in that mould in the coming weeks.

Looks like we're going 4-4-2 this season which is encouraging. Keatings capabale of dropping into 10 role when required. Think he'll be a real player for us.

442 and 4231 are very much similar and it all depends on who you play in the number 10 role. Andreu/Fraser last season weren't proper strikers so liked to always be a bit deeper. Keating will drop deep to link up play as he did last night so its going to be quite flexible I feel. When we are full-out attacking teams he will go right up top and feed off of scraps to get goals. When teams are a bit tougher to break down he will probably do more dropping deep to try and make things happen.

Want to call out Paul McMullan for last night (I know it was Montrose) but he skinned more boys in one game the Blair Spittal did in 3 seasons. Looks already like an instant upgrade.

I see Fyvie has been training with the Aberdeen U20's this week.

Trying to win a deal there or just keeping his fitness up?

I've heard that the deal is deal due to 'personal reasons'

Aye cos he thinks we're ****e, personally.

Hibs reviving the deal now apparently. Looks like he'll be staying put.

I heard from within Tannadice (but not linked directly to first team) that holds ups on signings, especially with the wage Fyvie would get is due to us waiting/hoping for Andy Robertson money, not that there is nothing left in the pot but without that the wages we offer and players who will sign would differ...... hence if we don't get that soon we will probs end up with cheaper options
