    Roly, mining roots have nothing to do with Brexit.You like many have been sucked into a ‘political’ war and taken your eye off what this is all about and that is a freedom of speech democratic vote to leave the EU.

    What ‘has’ happened is it is either about the Tory’s/Labour, people are now feverishly banging on about and not the reason why they who voted to LEAVE in the first place.

    For me Corbyn is a man I would NOT like to lead the country.

    [QUOTE=great_fire;39330378]Democracy died today.

    "Now the courts are in charge, there really is no point in voting, anyone with enough money can get what you voted for overturned by the Supreme Court".

    I suspect that Boris, Jacob, and their friends in high places are the ones with enough money. Whoever thought that the members of the Supreme Court would be so anti establishment? Every one of them, without exception.

    Power grabbing is how I answer that. This is a political matter and always has been otherwise John Major would not have been able to prorogue parliament himself.

    These judges have been given a back way in to what was always unreachable and have grabbed the chance to assume power where it was not wanted or needed but thanks to the remoaning *******s who cannot accept democracy they have now managed to wedge that door wide open to walk in and out of whenever they feel the need to.

    We should refer the matter to the ECJ for their view

    My feeling is that the court will approve the English High Court position - that proroguation is a political not a legal matter - but it isn't a comfortable outcome is it? Everyone knows exactly why BoJo has done it and his attempts at a Trump-esque post truth explanation leaves a nasty taste.

    I reckon Boris should put it to the European Court of Justice to overturn the supreme courts ruling!

    Now wouldn’t that be farcical asking the ECJ to rule on this. We all know the outcome so don’t bother Boris.
