Thanks GB.
The keeper position problem has been obvious from early on
The January dealings in sending a possible keeper away and sticking with less than what we had before were incredible
My only thoughts with Goodwin comments are that he is not able to bring in another keeper out of contract and he does not rate Newman
He’s trying to boost Birighitti before the run in
Sadly Birighitti has been given lots of fresh starts / new chances and he has let us down time and time again
I just hope he and the team can hold it together and somehow get us up to 10th and out of trouble
I said it earlier in this thread, getting a keeper in was even more important to our chances of staying up than changing the manager even, not that that wasn’t called for either, but you can set your team up, get a bit of belief back on the side, and it is all undone the Moment the Opposition has an attempt on goal and you are 1-0 down. I’m struggling to see how we survive with him in goal.
Losing goals isn't too much of a problem if you are also scoring more goals....unfortunately...we can't seem to do that either! We haven't been able to do that all season, so when you consider that we weakened both areas in January and brought in no-one...then it is either the biggest ever act of self harm or it is part some sort of match fixing! I don't blame weetabix wrists..it's not his fault that the club brought him in and then got rid of any competition! 100% Asghar and therfore 100% Ogren by proxy! All we can do is pray that the rest of the teams are more sh#te than us! There is still something very wrong with the club and maybe relegation is what is needed to empty the owner, backroom staff and players. I can only see us papering over the cracks otherwise!
The keeper is just one of a few who are utterly phucking useless at this level. I fear the worst. The league table doesn't lie - we are where deserve to be, and it breaks my heart to say this.
Agree PP was excellent against hearts until he pulled up. Definitely provided a deferent attacking option. Getting carded early doors made him concentrate more on staying on his feet and what a difference that made. The main issue I have with PP is that his injury record is horrendous and for that he can’t be relied on. Hope I’m wrong because I think he cld link up well with fletcher.
Just as well getting a Tailor's dummy on loan from Slaters he wont flap at corners/set pieces and he might even save a few .
