O/T Coronavirus Thread (2)

Having read with disgust about the 400 plus arrests in Manchester last weekend for street parties,house parties and the like(some with dj's,bouncy castles etc) I despair that we'll ever beat this virus. What punishment should we be giving these idiots ?

It’s a good question timbertop, and this coming weekend could be even worse. Unfortunately it’s not just parties and bbq’s , quite a few people around here are still having non essential jobs done, painting and decorating etc, they think it’s just a joke if you say anything.

What you have to realise is that people who regularly break the law will not suddenly become law abiding citizens, even it is in their and everyone else's interest, just because of this bug. Not saying its right that they do this but i would argue that all calculations about this epidemic should factor in that a certain %age of the population will not comply. They will continue being arse holes as they always have been. Plans of how to deal with the virus will at least be more accurate then. Boris and his advisors will have done this hopefully.

Police resources wont stretch to sorting every illicit party out but it is one of the reasons why i argue it is a waste of police resources to send up drones on remote moors where people are well distanced when they could be better employed trying to stop these kinds of things happening in people s homes.

Dunt look like the lockdown will ease up for a while yet but again mention schools could be back. Personally I would think we will be in lockdown for another month at the very least. There will be extra stresses in the home because of this no doubt so all we can do is hope people are going to get extra support at home with regard to mental health, domestic violence, child abuse , people working at home while supporting families etc,

I have always leaned to the Left of politics, but the nature of the Labour leadership of the last few years and the antics and attitudes of many of their supporters – including some on here- left me utterly disillusioned. Keir is a good bloke and I have a lot of respect for him, but whether he can drive the hate brigade out of the party remains to be seen.

That is a great reply sharky! Some folks would have us with water round our necks or freezing to death.

It can be done in the home ya know just observe the rules of social distancing. I had a plumber to fix my leaking bog the other day. I could have left it I suppose but didn't fancy the ceiling falling in or having to go outside for a piss or shyte... All I di d was open the door when he came stoodd well back let the guy in pointing out where the job was, leaving him to it while I stayed downstairs and paying him on line. I even allowed him to scrub his hands in the bathroom to protect him and me from bugs. It aint rocket science.

I've done garden painted 2 sheds & fencing, tried to do a Tom Sawyer from Mark Twain book of the same name, & get people to pay me to paint the fence. Cut the grass & weeded, take the dog out.

Ive never done so much decorating in me life Eric. Our lass thinks shes got a new man! the problem for me is that this could go on for months. God knows what she will have me doing next!

Trump is apparently championing a drug called Hydroxychloriquine as a potential 'cure' based on minimal research with indifferent results. If this turns out to be true though, I have quite a stash of these pills as until very recently Hydroxychloriquine was part of my cocktail of meds for rheumatoid arthritis. I was taken off them last month as compared to my other set of meds, they weren't adding much to the mix.
I can tell you they taste vile, can cause dizziness and itchiness, and can damage your eyes. I had to have regular eye tests while on this drug to make sure it wasn't destroying my sight.

I've somehow ended up with a load of them spare. If it does turn out that they are a cure or a good treatment for Covid19, I might have to resort to dealing ��

CDC may have now debunked this and surprise, surprise, Trump may have (allegedly) investments in the company who make the drug! Does that put him in the same category as your Mogg mate Roly?
