But they don't want to show any real intent or act retrospectively, they will say the referee (an FA employee) saw the the incident so the card stands.

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised but I think you fella's will be disappointed when the panel make their decision.

The fact that Flores is a big woofta and a diver (a bit like Tom Daly really) will have no bearing on Carroll's punishment.

Don't think that's how it works. If 2 of the panel of 3 agree with you it deserved a red card then the 3 match ban will stand. It will only be deemed frivolous if it is felt the appeal had no grounds. And whichever way you look at that red card it can be proved that Webb could not see the whole incident clearly, irrespective of whether Carroll intended (which I doubt) to clout the bloke or not.

And as others have said the antics of Flores will I imagine be taken into consideration.

In legal parlance he would not be considered a reliable prosecution witness.

re: To Appeal or Not to Appeal - That is the Question

Unless the refs report, states after video viewing, the red card should not have been awarded, then the appeal will have no chance.

The ref would in that case be critical of his linesman. It would be tactical for officialdom to simply say the red card was awarded for reckless endangerment.

So yes it was not a red card, however having made a mistake, politically it is easier for the FA not to admit that mistake.

If the FA panel had to debate their reasoning on TV, then...well things would be different...no one wants to look foolish in the media. Do they ?

Tend to agree with you on this Flair. He'd already done something similar earlier on and got a way with it. It's quite clear he was looking for that actor but should really should have maturity and restraint in my book. We were winning comfortably after all.

Appeal will fail for one reason and that is the ref is Howard Webb and he is our World Cup ref. Panel will not contradict his decisions.
Don't think they would have the audacity to give him an extra game though so worth chancing it.

The c unt has posted the "incident" on his twitter page claiming he did nothing wrong and Swansea supporters agreeing Andy should have went, I`m quickly losing respect for Swansea` fans, thought they were better educated.

The panel have no option but to rescind and award a yellow which is harsh also, this decision will have a big impact on our season.

Flores is a no mark imo,

Nolan got it right when he said he should be a bit more sporting about the incident, but he won't and we know it,

Webb's the Fa's golden boy so unless Webb stands tall Carrolls out for 3 games.

isn't just the money thats killing the game, but cheats like Flores!
