Weren't you the one who was yellow carded for saying you're not sure why anyone would want Sammon because he's "got down syndrome"? I don't think you're in the position to call anyone an idiot 'kid'.

Ok ramondo is finally if the meds ... Which means ...BACK IN THE GAME

What ramondo says is spot on. All Wigan are is one mans ego. They've had enough seasons and enough investment to grow into something significant. They haven't. Had we had the same the club would be pushing had to be too eight in the country.

Out owners have run us like they should and not just thrown money at us. And still after five years in the championship we are nearly double their size.

    That's says it all...

You're arguing with yourself, which is a bit strange. No one has even tried to state that Derby aren't bigger than Wigan. Just like Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are much bigger clubs than both Wigan and Derby. But size counts for little. What have those two clubs done the past 10 years? Had spells in League One and been average in the Championship.

You're praising your last 5 years due to being in the Championship. Whilst criticisi

Fair enough, if football was a truly level playing field and you were only bankrolled from tickets and merchandise, then the attendance would matter more, but it doesnt.

What I think is more of a valid argument, is why a team with low attendance, like Wigan, Pompey, QPR, etc, do get bankrolled by rich owners, which then in turn puts a club in a perilous state should the money dry up.

The money in football will eventually dry up and then we will see many clubs go under, then it wont matter how many people attend.
Local English businessman buys his home town club????? whats supposed to be wrong with that?
Did we buy our 8 years in the Prem? did we buy the FA Cup? No! Derby is a bigger town! But Billy big boo

You can call me whatever you like, doesn't bother me.

But can I point out that I'm not talking down to anyone - this is the Derby County message board and I am merely stating my opinion to other Derby fans based on there being a lack of sufficient interest in the Wigan area to sell out such a big game as the play off semi final, thus questioning whether such a club has any real place in the top tier.

If I'd come on your board and started spouting off th

I dont see that you can claim that Wigan have not operated sensibly and for a local guy to transform his local clubfrom non league to 4 years in the prem and fa cup winners is some acheivement, yes fiancnes are key, but so is a sensible policy on managers and buying players.

Its just a shame more Wigan people dont support their local football team and make the trip into Manchester instead!
