How is Davis still in a job?

Davis got a lot wrong earlier in the season but you surely have to praise him for the way that we have improved. The loan signings of Tate, Brandy and hopefully Haynes have proved very successful as has the new formation. Davis is also leaving somebody forward when defending corners. Love him or hate him, we've just won 3 on the bounce and I personally believe that he's played a big part in them.

I think Davis must take some of the blame for the early season poor form. He struggled to find a formation or starting line-up that was solid enough as a unit and our 'goals against' tally suffered, big time.

But credit where credit is due. He seems to have found a very solid formation with 3 at the back in recent weeks. And in Brandy and Tate he seems to have found 2 very useful additions. I also commend him for the way he dealt with Brad - he seems to be reinvigorated and getting back to his best.

Well done Steve. Absolutely delighted for him and the lads. And obviously for us lot; its great to be off the bottom, at last!

I agree with the rest of the post, but I take issue with this. Before Vale we did not have a team that worked in a formation: it was the players at fault, not Steve's tactics, in my humble opinion. What Steve and Bakes, plus others, have done is bring in new blood, change players' attitudes, and gradually instil confidence - non of which could be done with a flick of the fingers.
Perhaps these weaknesses should have been spotted in pre-season, but that's history.

all this ****e is ****ing me off. we had gradi for over 15 years, and we're thinking about sacking SD. i think you're forgetting that this manager took us to wembley twice in successive seasons. gradi took us to the championship, and back to league two. stick by SD. the rumours are all utter ****.
