    rainbow laces campaign

Just wondering how democratic this promotion was?

Could a manager or pundit or captain of a team say to the FA "actually I don't want to promote it" ?

I have no ulterior motive here, why do you think it is pathetic?

Because it’s yet another “worthy cause” hijacking football.

It’s s Sport, a game, a form of entertainment. Not an arena for displaying politically correct clap trap.

It would be a brave Chairman or manager that says “feck off” I’ve no interest in it and neither has this club. They nod and humour those peddling this twaddle. Not to do so would be death by twitter.

okay, my next question for everyone is:

if you were asked at work to wear a rainbow overall, or rainbow tie (for office workers) or a rainbow badge etc what would you say?

Red ties for Comic Relief, tick.

    Yellow tie for Pudsey, tick.

Not been asked to wear a rainbow tie to support a campaign against homophobia but if I was, I would support the cause and wear it. My reasons are a bit lame, it would be more about going along with the majority. Its not a cause I'm particularly passionate about but I respect everyone's feelings/beliefs as I think that's a good way to be, live and let live. I wouldn't, for example have any issue at all about Christian's not supporting this cause as Homo***uality is sinful according to the Bible so how could a true practicing Christian support it. Likewise I'd respect their views too.

In terms of using sport to promote these sorts of causes, especially football its obvious why. It gets the message out to the masses and that's what they want, even us discussing it is supporting it, over a thousand people might read this thread, some/lots won't have had a clue about this campaign, I didn't.

As already said above no club or chairman would refuse to support this, it would be suicide.

But Premier league wasn't told to use these flags even thought they are behind the campaign. Laughable

Why would you wear a rainbow flag just because of majority might do?

Company I work for have a float in the Seattle Gay Pride Parade every year and invite all employees to join in. Over 100 do (about 15% of the work force) both gay and straight. I didn't take part and didn't feel any pressure to. Everyone had a great day by all accounts.
