My thoughts are as follows, all three players should be banned from international cricket for a minimum of 3 years, the Australian management should be fined one years profit and Leaman should be sacked as team manager. If he didn’t know what they were up to, he should have.

To see the tears (were they crocodile tears) from Smith and Warne is laughable. They were only crying because they were found out, if they hadn’t been, they would be laughing and planning to do it again.

A very sorry incident for cricket. Was it a one off or has it been happening before?

There's plenty of anecdotes about individuals pushing the ball polishing/ scuffing to the extreme outer edges of the law ( rubbing dirt on, polishing with sticky saliva etc) but there's not been one team sanctioned, PLANNED, deliberate alteration of the ball's condition by illegal methods until this one.

There''s no way it's the first time they've done it, why was Warner wearing more tape in his fingers in the last test than Antony Joshua had on last night?

Each time they've got way with something they've pushed it a little further and , now they've been caught, we have crocodile tears, stage managed press conferences and attempts by all 3 to look as though they are falling on their swords- but actually missing the blade, and the point, by miles.

The Ashes were created by what was called 'the death of English cricket' when we first lost to them years ago, a somewhat melodramatic joke

What they've done has succeeded in killing the spirit of the game.I hope they are proud of themselves, all they've really done is cheat themselves and ruin their careers, regardless of what happens in years to come ( Think of Layne, Swan & Kaye)
