We're doomed, we're going down.
After the positives signs last week, this was back to the shambolic Notts we have come to loathe. Second best all over the park against a bang-average side, losing all the individual battles.
Ardley made the point afterwards that games are won and lost in the two penalty boxes - and we were rubbish in both. We were unable to defend crosses yet again and Ross had his worst game of the season. Our set-pieces were garbage, they scored from two simple corners (they actually had two men free on the back post for the third).
Thomas was our only goal threat, so it was baffling to see him be taken off (maybe they had forgotten Hemmings was still out there, such was his anonymity).
Yet again, the opposition doesn’t have to be particularly good to put us to the sword. I do hope it shows NA that you cannot play Vaughan and Milsom in midfield - but there are problems all over the pitch. We are spineless in both senses of the word.
We need a huge response from the players in the next two home games, but who’d bet on these players putting their bodies on the line and delivering? The players don’t deserve it, but I hope everyone who can make it gets down to the Lane on Boxing Day for the Macc game and cheers us on to 3 points. Desperate times.
Well bearing in mind we're only half way through the season, haven't had a transfer window for Ardley and are only one point below safety at this point I'd like to believe so yes. Still 69 points to play for and we need around half of them.
Let's all hope Mr Ardley has a decent transfer window wheeling and dealing to get us a spine.

I agree AH’s comments were naive in the extreme - no player is going to up their game so they can then be replaced in January.
On a separate issue, which of the loan players’ spells ends at the end of the month? I see all of the Stags’ goals today were from loanees and we’ve fared disastrously by comparison: The leaden Milsom - please don’t sign him on Jan. 1; the inconsistent Thomas (who had a strop today when taken off); the average Davies; and the injured Hall (the one piece of bad luck). Sums up our inept recruitment.
[QUOTE=MancMagpie;39092187]Really thought we had made a tiny bit of progress after last week. How can they be so Jackyll and Hyde?]
The main reason we beat Tranmere last week was because they rested about six players, both regular centre-backs, a couple of usual midfielders, etc. They had an important FA Cup replay on the Monday night following our game with the winner playing Spurs so they prioritised the Monday night game and rested players against us.
