Thread: O/T - general election 2019

It's the stupidity of the Labour party that gets me. As a Labour member I was told, back in the day, about the old adage "divide and rule" which the Tories use as their main ideology. With this current Labour Party the Tories don't need to divide and rule because the Labour party do it to themselves. It used to be so simple, rich and poor, now Labour are splintering their support into various micro-identities.

These micro-issues when I was in the Labour Party would have been dismissed as petty bourgeois concerns. This lot lap it up. Labour don't deserve to win power. 90 % of the party are thing as pig sh it.

IN MY OPINION he's done feck all for his constituency. He's kow-towed to the instructions of Labour HQ on Brexit and as a consequence he's consistently voted to thwart us leaving the EU regardless of the referendum result and what his voters think.

So why should I trust him or vote for him?

If he disappeared overnight I would celebrate
I just don’t get how so many people hate him but most of them would still vote labour out of habit, I just find it depressing how labours held it for over hundred years it makes me feel like our town no better than Russia

Jimmy Saville is dead. Unlike a lot of serial offenders still roaming free in Rotherham.

I’ll be voting for any party who can stave off the threat of Corbyn or Swinson getting into power.

    God forbid that happening.

Sarah champion will be voted back in by the Rotherham public. She won't have to phone or knock on doors to campaign. I don't want Labour in power. I want Brexit. Waste of time voting for any party other than Labour in Rotherham and I won't vote for them.

You can criticise the Lib Dems for lots of things, but inconsistency on the EU isn't one them.
They may have wanted to stay in the EU but their robust statements about completely revolking Brexit without even a referendum is a very recent stance and there,s a huge difference between what they are trying to do now.
    That isn,t consistent.
    Cheap votes and very shallow

I will still vote against labour even if it is a waste of time. I don’t want it to be because I didn’t vote that corbyn and his band of anti democratic men got in

He's a career politician, most of his career anyway, worked for a year or so in Parliament as a journalist and then became an MP, he obviously had the right connections.

The previous MP was an English teacher for many years and then Head of English, we need more MPs who have spent more than 5 minutes in the real world.

He didn't have close associations with the Tories, that was pretty much made up.

He certainly wasn't a Tory peer.

Whereas Labour's Lord Ahmed is currently on trial for two cases of historical child abuse.
