Presumably the fact he hasn't signed means he has an alternative offer to consider. I am surprised he was made an offer at Notts.

    He might go overseas.

Buckley would be an impressive signing too. Spent a lot of his career in the Championship, only 30...however he broke his leg in January. So would be another gamble.

Chettle didn't rate him that highly (based on a conversation he was having with Hardy that i was earwigging at Ilson) when he was in our U23's but it wouldn't surprise me. I can't see him developing much without a season playing regular first team football so it would probably be best for his career to drop down and actually play, if we could do that by loaning him out then great, but I'd imagine we'd plan to keep him here as cover.

Chettle didn't rate him yet Osbourne pretty much scored in every game he played? With knowledge like that leading the development squad, no wonder so many leave to go on to far better things with nothing for Notts

That was pretty much the point he was making, "fans see that he's scored and think he's had a great game but he makes so many mistakes" was the basic jist of it. The standard our u23's were playing against was awful too and Ardley seemed to reiterate Chettle's point when he was constantly getting asked about his lack of playing time

He's a young player, he'll make lots of mistakes but the fact he pops up and scores to me is a talent in itself, no one else seemed to be doing that? As for the quality of the opposition, wasn't that on Chettle's head to make sure they are getting decent experience?
