Spend a quarter of our purse and we'll be fine. The owners have their critics and rightly so. However, they are prudent business people when all said and done. I don't believe they'll change their philosophy should we get promotion, we'll just carry on but the difference is that on our return to the championship we'll be able to afford your Ivan Toneys of this world.
You don’t think they’ll cash in whilst the product is hot? Similar to Hoyle at Huddersfield, they are now (Allegedly) in financial stress.

If they do then they do. Av gid or bothering wi it mate. Nowt we can do ennyrooard. Who's to say we might not hit financial hardship in these next few years anyway on the back of the Covid crisis? Normally we'd expect our big guns to be sold but this summer I'm not so sure with most championship clubs struggling financially.

No... I’m not negative. I’m saying that I think we’ve stretched ourselves, and outdone expectations. A season of continued thrashings with potential to have the financial collapse afterwards ( a la Wigan ) isn’t my idea of progression. I hope I’m wrong. I could be a million miles off. If we go up, and survive and prosper, then it’ll be wonderful.
How long ago..... and with what parachute Payments did Wigan drop down from the Prem? Blackburn? ( And they, I think we’re under a very astute owner when relegated....

I hope I’m wrong. I’ve been a fan since 69. Id like to see us established as a force in the Championship first , and then eventually in the Prem, gradually getting better at staying in it.... I think we have a way to go.
Is it wrong to want to be top end Championship as a goal for now?

On the other hand. The young lads here have no fear in the prem. We spend little and stay up. Just on the final day. Then win the prem year after..... long shot yes dreaming also yes... but Leicester did it.

I know we as fans now know that this football club can be run successfully with the resources we've got could take a long time to get it to work but I'm not really too scared about us going out of business because were in the no how look how weve stuck by it over covid these owners havent dipped into there own pockets cant blame em alan sugar was pretty peed off when he was doing his doe at spurs what am saying is this it's possible for football fans to now run football clubs will one of you lads who can explain things better than me animal pass someone pls.

I think you've completely missed the point with my assessment of ourselves in the PL Jules .

At no point did I suggest PL retention , that's actually the one thing a club of our size is guaranteed to cause financial problems further down the line .

Go up , spend the minimum , take the money , come down and become a decent championship club with the occasional venture back up to top our money back up if you like .

If we could become another Norwich City that would be my aim .

Ah, I didn’t misunderstand it, I GET your plan. And it most certainly could work. A season of batterings and embarrassment to put money in the bank...... It could/would be worth it if the money gained was invested correctly.

My idea is to become a strong championship club first. Then progress to being a Norwich. A successful top ten finish for a few years, allowing us to pick off talented developing players and retaining our long term ones (ie Mowatt, Collins, Britain) and gradually developing a team to be a force like Norwich, sweeping aside, and being a class above that can POSSIBLY survive and flourish once promoted/consolidated .
Your right Animal in that Norwich don’t spend tens of millions on players ....yet flourish as a yo yo club between the prem and championship, and our model is very similar to them. I’d like us very much to achieve that.
What I don’t want is for us to be one of the Boom and Bust Clubs that have arrived in the Prem and fall out of it, into free fall. Can we say the owners will re-invest the profits? Or will they just take the money out of here and say “Well we did it” now we move on......

I just don’t think we are strong enough yet...... as someone said months ago when this pandemic hit, it’s been a leveller, and brought the other clubs down to our levels. When it’s over, do we have the strength to match them in normality? (Consequently, I also get the idea that this MAY be our best chance to grab a chance go up).

I’d love us to go back one day. Don’t get me wrong. And it would be great for fans who missed out on the last Premier League ride to experience it, it’s a great feeling, And I hope they see it., It’s a far different Premier League from the one we experienced last time. More intense, more scrutiny, more quality.... Less “Raw”

    We’ve all got different opinions.
Would I be happy if they went up? Of course. But I’d be worried for the future looking at the state of other clubs that have gone before us.

For me, it’s baby steps, grow stronger longer.
