    But, it started the thread.

    With the opening gambits of....

    you thick millers fans

    Tight chuff

    dour miserable chuffs

    tight working class puddings

    grubby Yorkshire scruffs

I am sure even you thick millers fans can follow the instructions

    Amusing and not rude?
I suppose it depends in what light one judges those phrases, Geetarman. You’re right, it would be possible to see them as confrontational insults if taken at face value. To me, they’re IBS’s way of exhorting us to rise to the challenge and support a good cause.

It’s always the problem with writing online. You can never be sure the message is clear. If IBS really is trying to get under everybody’s skin with overt rudeness, I would of course retract my estimation of him - but I don’t think that’s the case.

(I do know a little about the person behind IBS from a third party and this tends to reinforce my view.)

IBS I’ve been in it for more than 10 years and gladly pay my £8 by direct debit each month. I’ve won a grand total of £20 in all that time. It’s not the money I win that counts, it’s knowing I’m supporting a great cause for my home town

I'll pay either way. Hospice is a great cause and I had a really pleasant thank you note the last time I gave something as a result of a bet on here. They seemed genuinely amused that we have these Millers related "challenges"!
When you donate, how do you signify it's from the MillersMad bunch so they associate the donation with the board??

Rotherham Hospice is the greatest thing that this town has produced.
