You beat me to it Jacob, traditionally I agree with a fair share of TSANHO's footballing opinions but to say the only good things were the scoreline and headed goal is just plain wrong.

We more than stood up to the one thing the fans more than anything have rightly criticised the team for not doing for over 2 seasons . This board would have certainly been in meltdown no doubt if we hadn't and had conceded from one of their 7 corners or 10+ torpedo long throws. We didn't and never did. Huge improvement on last season.

You could easily be right about the central midfield but it's too early to be that definitive. The jury is still out for me.

If that was an abject performance you must have a very short memory. If that was indeed an abject performance for this squad then we should be collectively delighted it got us a point away at one of the title favourites.

Now we just need to go out and perform well against inferior opposition at home and get those 3 points

Do you think that was a good performance on Monday? Apart from heading balls away from our box, were you impressed with how we played?
I thought it was a good, solid, professional performance in what is likely to be the hardest fixture we have this season. We came under a lot of pressure from long throws and corners, as I would expect away at a physical side put together for a lot of money playing in front of their own fans for the first time in 18 months, in which time the entire club has been transformed and they’ve got a huge feelgood factor.

In terms of chances, we scored a brilliantly worked goal, and both Mitchell and DKE had opportunities in the first half that they could’ve taken with a bit more composure. Considering we rested our two best players, I thought that was a decent return. I would’ve liked us to have a bit more threat when they came on, but that can’t always happen. At the other end, we conceded because of a goalkeeping error and nearly got caught out by a short corner in the first half that Hyde ended up poking just wide. Otherwise, I’m not sure we gave up a clear chance.

I don’t know what people were expecting from Wrexham away, but I thought it would be a far more difficult night than it ended up being. If we can replicate that performance in other big away games, we will be fine in them. We’ve now got a different test for the next few weeks - can we consistently put away the weaker sides?

Good answer, and a good question! What do/did people expect? Personally I think my expectations and what I’d dearly love to happen get all mixed up into a big grey area somewhere in the middle which maybe explains the ups and downs of the internet message board.

Laddo is correct, abject was far too strong a word, it was industrious and hard fought for….which can sometimes be taken for granted.

One thing I do know is this specific thread and others recently this season have been what a football message board should be about (IMO). Discussing, debating, arguing and also agreeing on things such as judging players, team performances, concerns, promising signs, formations, team selection etc. All done with a little sprinkle of humour, a touch of realism, good debate and no personal abuse.

You can't fail to notice the quality , especially away from the expected and understandably emotionally driven threads on match days , has been like night and day compared to most of the last two seasons. It maybe a tad early to say (just like judging Notts start to the season) but it appears NCM has gone back to discussing Notts

The game was a battle, hard fought, they overall deserved the win no doubt about it, but not by much. We didn't show what we can do on the ball in an attacking sense enough which we saw at the end of last season many times and at Barnet but we did show what we can do without it and defensively. That side of the game is equally important. The reason we didn't show enough going forward for 90 mins is because at the moment we aren't good enough or performing well enough to do it against top sides. Well that's my theory anyway.

The next set of fixtures is our chance to show the league what we can do and I look forward to seeing our points total after 10 games.

Also we had 5 new signings in the starting line up, as mentioned earlier, we rested our best 2 creative player's, it will take a bit longer for us to be more cohesive.

It was a similar situation as our first game under Munto.

Bradford caved in. We didn't at Wrexham.

All I’m going to add is… completely agree.

I know some argue glass half empty view, but some of the views on here suggest we don’t even have glass!

This. I don't think we were outplayed on Monday at all, obviously we're going to have to defend away at the league favourites but we could have had 2 or 3 in the first half with the right cut back. Then Sam not coming off his line quick enough for them to score got them going again and the crowd then it was backs to the wall but outplayed? No way.
