So did we learn anything from the fans forum?![]()
To be fair, it was pretty interesting as these fans forums tend to go. I missed the first few minutes and only logged in out of curiosity, but then saw it through to the end. I expected it to be a bit bland, but it wasn't. Ian Burchnall came across very well and was honest and funny, and the audience questions seemed to be off the cuff rather than the pre-rehearsed ones I've seen at similar events. Burchnall, Doyle and Cameron all acquitted themselves well, and it's well worth a watch if it's still on Youtube.
Exactly, it's a game of opinions nobody suggested there was a right or wrong answer and that every qualified coach should do the same. I've known for a long long time that these qualified us fans critisice so regularly tend to know a lot more than supporters. Some people need reminding from time to time.
When I was a youngster I would have been on here saying why don't we keep 2 up on the halfway line that way they have to have at least 3 back to cover. However back then I viewed football in a far more simple and basic way (judging forwards by goalscoring records only etc), and didn't understand more of the complexities of the game nor the tactical side of the game.
Defending corners is a great example.
Yes I was one of the people offering an opinion
Happy for none on the half way unless losing after the hour mark, more concerned with having one or two on edge of the 18 yard box and not giving away space in our area.
Playing out from the back and tippy-tapping around the back four are the reasons why we look like we have more possession than the other team, as I've said many times in many games most of the football gets played in the Notts' half. We hold on to the ball too long because we haven't the midfielders with different ideas of how to push the other team. Lack of quality will keep us in this league till we find quality and splash the cash on it.
You might feel that clubs like Chesterfield, Wrexham and Stockport are trying to spend their way to promotion but if they didn't try they might as well admit they are happy with non-league football.
