I actually thought you may have been poking for a reaction.

Back to the picture and I believe I see the bigger picture. As a club we couldn’t continue to operate in the manner we have for 2 decades. Rolling from owner to admin to owner and getting very close to seizing to exist. In my opinion, the current owners, have a long term plan that I believe will get and keep our club on a sound footing for years to come. Unfortunately, in the current world we live in the short term success of getting out of this bloody league may not come soon enough for some. For me, as painful as it maybe, a few disappointing performances/results will not make me lose faith in the long term plan. Some of the cogs in the plan may need to be changed along the way, but not after 9 matches.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your beer in the sun.
Agree with all that. Wether people like the Brentford / Moneyball approach or not, it’s happening. If we want to produce saleable players to higher leagues they need to be schooled the right way, footballs changing / changed. Playing from the back is what all the academies are doing, long gone are the days where they only take on kids that are physically stronger than the rest and as others have said we will be a more attractive option to loan players to. It will make its way down to non league eventually but with that obviously there is debate whether you can be successful now in this league doing it. The owners have a long term view/strategy and good leaders stick to their principles but football is emotional/ short term to fans and that’s where the friction comes in as we see on here.

There are times, ridicule maybe too strong a word, when I feel he makes a a little humorous comment off the back of someone’s post. This is my opinion, hence why I asked the question direct to Elite. I don’t wish to turn into a major incident and I’m certainly not upset by it.

In terms of positive and negative, I’ll agree to disagree with you. Individual/match performances aside. I understand that everybody as an opinion, but surely some are positive about the direction the owners are trying to take the club in, some reserve judgment and some don’t think it will work. What I don’t like, although some of it is humour, is the labelling of nodding dogs or pitchfork brigade.
Anyway, my thoughts. Hope you have a good evening.
Evening KK, I agree with you about the labelling of nodding dogs and pitchforking, that's what I've been saying all day, I don't agree with that. That's what I meant by the positive/negative part of my post. I went on to say some will like the direction the club is being taken in, some are in the middle and then some don't think it will work which you have echoed so it seems we're in agree after all I hope you have had a nice evening as well thank you and a good day tomorrow.

How can any club, let alone a professional club have 1 recognised keeper deemed good enough for first team football?
When you play 3 centre backs, you need adequate cover - we have Brindley and Chickson. Against tall physical sides that cover isn’t adequate. For the record I like both.
Up front. If we lose Wootton at any point we are knackered. None of the other forwards come close to what he brings. I know some don’t rate him but his stats stack up.
Then there is the centre of midfield. It’s choc full of young lads (with JoB the exception) learning the trade. These players may well progress and become fine footballers. I truly believe that we are 1 central midfielder shy - one with experience of sitting in midfield and dictating play. A 30 year old Doyle.
It’s fine having a small squad if it’s good enough. The issue we might have now is that IF the losing run continues their isn’t much scope to freshen it up without loan players, which kind of defeats the object of what we want to achieve.

So in summary, IMO, the players we have are fine. We just needed more of them.
You make some very good points. I’ll give my take on them, probably not all, I’ve been on here too long!

In terms of GK I would have liked to have seen some competition brought in to push Slocombe. Burchnall decided he was confident in Sam, the money could be spent elsewhere and if we needed a replacement, we do as we’ve done now.

CB’s I agree re Brindley & Chicksen. You get away with one in a back 3, but not both. I think we’ve been bloody unlucky to lose 3 at the same time.

Midfield, I wish we had Doyle from 3/4 years ago. I agree with you, I think we’re one shot too. Francis as definitely got the capabilities to develop into the holding midfield role. But, he’s got to learn on the job and very quickly. Maybe too quick for our aspirations this season. Over to Burchnall and Doyle.

Happy we retained JOB, but I think 90 minutes is a big ask for his legs. As Saturday proved. I saw him as someone who can impact a game in the 2nd half if required.

That sums up why you are so disliked by some posters. You don’t have to understand others. Just let them say what they think, and if you don’t agree with them say why, but without always wanting to look superior and make them look silly..

The thought of losing Big Kyle is a real concern for me. We know IB and staff will have a plan B for that scenario cos of how this head coach operates but whether it's adequate god knows. As we know we have no like for like replacement for him at present.
It went well on Saturday with the loanees!

All boards go into meltdown after a heavy defeat. It's been that way for years in the pubs after a match, this is no different.

We lose a midfield battle, or struggle against set pieces and lose a game and all of a sudden, the set piece coach is useless, the recruitment is poor, the manager should be gone if he loses the next two games, the owners are relatively skint, the crowds will soon drop by a 1000-1500, won't make the playoffs at this rate, if we do we will bow at miserably, we need Warnock to consult etc etc. I know a game of football can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions as we've seen multiple times under IB but it's frankly ridiculous to question everything about the club and it's long term aims on and off the field.

When fans are peed off after a crap result, what else do you expect? Tolerance and forbearance?

Laddo is like the anti Durham, he quoted a post then went on to write a hundred lines basically saying the same thing when he could have wrote ' agree '
I enjoyed the slick passing and ball retention on Saturday just a pity we didn't have a Christian Dennis to finish them and run out of steam, lost concentration the last 25 minutes

Well you certainly seem determined to keep this going, clearly you don't care about the fox after the Mod's recent polite request.

Thanks for your input and the fact you've quoted me and commented yet again sums you up perfectly. You just can't help yourself#void

That's an interesting point you've made because that is exactly what I observed on here before I started posting again. People trying their hardest to make others look silly, acting superior, being patronising and condescending.

The feathers got ruffled and they don't like it. Dummy well and truly spat out.

When you are ready to change just let me know and I will hold your hand and do the same#bestfortheboard

Anti Durham? The opposite of Victor Meldrew's more miserable brother sounds good to me. I'll take it

Talking of Kristian Dennis doubt we will ever see that goal poacher again at Meadow Lane. Since leaving he's been earning a pretty penny getting splinters in his a$$ up in bonnie Scotland at St Mirren. Sounds a good gig if you aren't too bothered about regular first team action.
