It would be utterly pointless to change manager. It’s almost certain that he has had little backing from our esteemed owner regarding player recruitment and in any case, even the best managers in the World would struggle to do better given the available resources. Forget about changing the manager/coach, focus on ridding ourselves of the wretched chinaman.

I hate to say it but I don’t think VI will last long in this role. If we look back at our managers that we’ve had trying to get us up (and given the fact we’re only in October) debating the credentials at this stage of our boss?.. it just doesn’t bode well. Fans reactions such as this is inevitable but surely not this point in the season? And fans reactions do say a lot believe it or not.
Bilic - it wasn’t til the new year (when we were unhappy with the performances), matteo.. did we complain about his championship season? Moore only stayed for so long as the club felt the need to an ex player and black manager out.
I think i’m starting what looks obvious to me, it doesn’t bode well.
I’m not looking to get rid of VI but he needs quality players and you get that with spending money, properly.
I’ll be surprised if VI is here this time next month or actually just right after the next transfer window opens.

What is bound to happen is FOL will sack Val in January and bring a new manger just as the transfer window shuts!

You could be right Regis but hope not! Who would want to manage a very average bunch of championship players apart from an idiot!!

Even if Johnstone goes in January do we honestly think we would see any money!!! Our best bet is to get promoted by sheer luck and the little runt sells the club quickly!!

Sadly in life if you invest zero you end up with a bargain basement until it then declines and fails. That’s the way we will go!

I do feel sorry for Val though and not sure every player is even on board with what he wants to achieve. You need hungry young players with raw talent not the likes of Bartley - Livermore - Ajayi etc who are bog standard average at best!

I bet West Ham are laughing to the bank with the Diangana money!!!

I think we are good enough to stay third or fourth which I think will keep Val in the job until the end of the season.

This is a very pessimistic thread in a not awful situation. We started the season with most of this board thinking we would be in Sheff Utd's position given our managerial situation, the losing mentality, Perreira off and an average set of players. I recall some poster predicting a double relegation.

We're now third in the league, a point off automatics and we've smashed a couple of sides which shows signs that the system can work and provide the entertainment value we crave. And we now want this guy out? It doesn't make sense.

Do we think others could have done better? Wouldn't we have taken play offs at the start of the season?

Good sensible post Matt! Personally with zero spend and average championship players at best - Val deserves credit so far! Yes Ok there could be room for some improvement but the same could be said for any manager. When I say average championship players that’s a fact as Mowatt is our best player alongside Clarke who can’t get in a Brighton team!

No I don’t think others could have done better with the same set of players! In fact who would want to risk their CV by coming here.

Those calling for Val’s head really do need to book into a padded clinic!

Johnstone will go in January too and there won’t be a penny to reinvest. On that note - why don’t many vent their anger towards the little t osser in China?

The only criticism I have of Val - he was a naive fool to come to our club with zero ambition - zero spend and a f uck whit called Ken who knows f uck all about football!

Ken knows f uck all about football that’s why he appointed val as manager 🤣🤣🤣
