Can we take a break tho don’t forget we have got the silly World Cup next November. So fixtures would be backed up.

I get that argument but also why should teams that can field a team (like us, currently) be punished and have their fixture list get clogged up going into the new year? Nobody gave us sympathy last season with the 4 games in a week so there isn't much coming from me now. I'm not blaming teams nor am I saying we will dodge it completely but if teams can play then play.

They could do what the NHL have announced here. A 2 week break due to the current situation and all NHL players now not taking part in the Winter Olympics in February to use that time to make up games. Premiership/EFL could do the same, have a break, boycott the World Cup and use the time for league purposes

I doubt we'll avoid it to be honest. The local NFL team here had been extremely diligent and hadn't had a single Covid case since the season started in September. In the last week, 15 players have gone down with it. I was looking at the UK numbers yesterday, around 2,500/100,000 in London, 1,500/100,000 in the Midlands and 400/100,000 in SY. It's heading North.

Oh we will undoubtedly be hit at some stage, the real unknown is to what degree. Hopefully we pick it up quickly and can limit the spread. Makes it even more important to play when you can. Calling off games when you can play would become a terrible decision if you then can't play later on. Backlog would be a nightmare.

With games getting called off left, right and centre with this non discriminatory virus.funny how no games scheduled for main coverage on sky in the coming days have been postponed…
