That's why I thought best to put it up as a separate thread to where it was posted on the Rotherham v Lincoln post, as it may have been missed by many.

Yes the covers will protect to a certain temperature but obviously not effective in all areas of the pitch due to the conditions this time around.
If it happens in the same places then perhaps a raised cover with some hot air blowers. But this all costs money not only to purchase or hire the equipment but also to erect it and take it down

Millmoor had this problem a few times with the Railway End shadowing parts of the pitch. Both stadiums have a similar orientation

Or you could have just put a big (POSTPONED) at the end of the title of that thread. (You need to Edit Post and select Go Advanced to change a title)

Cheers for that but, with 5,841 views it's certainly caught the attention

I thought Frost covers protected the pitch overall, not just parts of it, if we rely on the sun to thaw the pitch out, then we're in trouble just like every other lower league club, We have never relied on the sun, if so, we'd have numerous games off.........Strange we've never had this problem at NYS when it's been frosty before??
The orientation of the stadium has got nothing to do with it. No matter which way it is they're always be a part in shadow.
