What we haven't learned is that we telegraph our love of tippy-tap in our own half; that if the enemy push forward when our goalie has the ball we will still insist on first rolling the ball out before looking what might happen next; that wide open spaces in the oppo half are not to be exploited; that we will crowd that part of the field where the enemy aren't; that Burchy has no back-up plan to counter a high-pressing team; we can't find quality loanees that want to stay for more than a week, and lastly, that Nottm Forest loanees aren't to be trusted to try and help Notts County win or get their legs muddy.

Spot on, & the next manager & the next. Yes boss no boss. If IB does go, the next manager will either prove this, or make some of us have egg on our faces.
Lets see how Solihull play on Sunday. The games I've seen them play, nothing like when NA was at Notts

Things need to change and that starts with the owners if I was giving marks out of ten for the season:

    Owners: 6/10

    IB: 6/10

    Squad: 6/10

As others have said we are now a mid table non league team with no desire or urgency to get out of this league. Things have to change, starting with the owners showing a visible desire to get out of this league, I for one doesn’t settle for National League mediocrity. A tough few months ahead.
I can get onboard with the equal blame and 6s across the board but how a 5th placed finish and comfortable finish in the playoffs can be described as midtable is beyond me. Although I don't agree it was argued that if we finished 8th that was mid table now 5th is?!

    Can you please explain?

We'd have to be really bad to be mid-table. Aside from the first few months when the table is yet to settle down, the only time we've sunk that low was during the Mo Ross period and a short spell after losing 3-0 at home to Barrow when Ardley came under quite intense pressure - that might have been when he made his "There's people around the club who want us to fail" statement, I'm not sure.
There seems to be next to no tolerance for Notts being out of the play-offs for more than a few weeks, so a whole season mid-table would probably result in a total meltdown.

As I've said though, the longer we remain in this division the more likely we are to having that one season where everything seems to go against you and it becomes a struggle. Every play off failure is a blow to the head and Notts will end up on the canvass at some point. It doesn't matter what level we're talking, you don't see clubs in the play offs season after season for very long without them either going up auto at the 3rd,4th attempt or becoming so demoralised they end up way down the table.

I'd agree we would have to be really bad to finish genuine 'mid table', and regularly on here over the seasons in NL the comment pops up that "we will finish mid table". I know NCM is a cauldron of negativity at times but I don't know where it comes from? We haven't ever looked like finishing in mid table in any of the seasons regardless what the doomsayers post. We've finished 3rd, 5th and 5th without (sadly) really ever troubling the top of the table nor falling to midtable.

When we have been briefly out of the playoffs during the season I've noticed a sense of panic and increased doom that we won't or can't get back in and finish in the playoffs but in reality it's never been a concern.

5th isn't midtable, never has been, never will be. Unless someone thinks pre-playoff format that anything below 3rd should be classed as midtable all the way down to a place above the relegation zone

We will probably always be in or around the play-offs, but that's as far as it gets. The teams that get promoted have players who know how to see the games out. We have no one with that mentality in our team. What we do have is a bunch of players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet, when we dont have it we just dont have the physicality to win back possession.
Our defence is made up of square pegs in round holes. Apart from Cameron, there is no other player with the height and strength to challenge the numerous crosses that come into the box.. We have signed too many diminutive players who are just not up to the rigors of this league...Also, we have spent monies on players that wouldn't get into the local pub team..
The solution is.... We need a manager with previous success of getting out of this crap league. We need to abandon this tippy tappy knock it around the back crap and do what it takes to get us out....
