You do realise that about 40% of the Spanish league players are foreign? About 68% in Premier League, nobody but you thinks its simply a case of looking at the top leagues and buy one of their national players at some presumably bargain price.
    He IS that stupid.

No I don't, I expect our scouting to be as wide as we can possibly make it, to use an analogy from another poster, casting our net in a larger pool. We have bought crap players from Spanish clubs, you'd suggest otherwise? Thing is surely to learn from experience and don't do it again! Never have I said there is a "one (golf) club fits all" approach that will work, and neither have I said we look only at "the top leagues", read my other posts about some of the players, and where they would come from, to illustrate. What I would prefer to our current (apparent) approach is not to seek to transfer the whole of Reb Bull Leipzig/Saltzburg to Elland Road.

So you would suggest we go out and scout for another Casilla, JKA, Rodrigo, all of whom you suggested were "good bits of business". And I'M the stupid one? Pan, kettle, black etc etc.

You have assumed that because we are possibly looking at more than 1 player from our current managers ex club ( which may give us some leverage, as even Haaland has commented on how he rates Marsch) that we are suddenly going to stop scouting elsewhere??? Bizarre you seem to make up stuff to argue about

I've said nothing of the sort, we may end up obtaining players from a variety of sources, but that's not indicated by past experience (unless you count the first couple of disasterous seasons following Ortas arrival when he inflated the 1st team squad by 50% by scooping up dross from just about everywhere!), nor by current rumours (and yes, I know, rumours mean nothing, proof of pudding is in the eating).

I'm not "making up stuff to argue about", I'm expressing an opinion about our current (rumoured) transfer targets (and doing so a lot less insultingly that some who post here). You may disagree, your observation of the leverage that signing more players from a single club may prove correct, so we should just not post when we have a view (and with which others might agree or not)? Thought that was the whole point about a forum?

WTF for example read the previous post of yours, saying we want to transfer the whole of the Red Bull team, maybe if you reread your posts before posting, you wouldn't have to spend time explaining what you really meant so often.

We all want different views on here, it's healthy discussion (till name calling comes into play because of opposing views)

An ex manager going back to a club for recruiting players is common, he understands them and will know their talent and temperment. I'd be quite happy if we get 4 players from there, if you know their squad most of them are talented U23's.

And you think that that statement was to be taken literally? Of course I don't expect LUFC to acquire the whole, or even a substantial proportion, of ANY club, from any league. Stretching a point to make point isn't something that relates just to me when I post here, we are ALL capable of it, you included.

I'd agree with you about Marsch going back to a club he is familiar with, if it wasn't for the mismatch in how the league that club belongs to is structured, and the competitive nature it generates, which I've referred to in other posts. You mentioned that the Austrian leagues aren't minor for German clubs, but how many German clubs are successful in their own leagues, and more importantly, if we're to see LUFC back in Europe, how successful are they in European competitions, in comparison to clubs from the PL? Bayern Munich is the pre-eminent in both (31 Bundesliga titles, 5 for Borussia Dortmund and Moenchengladbach then you're dealing with penny-number success). By comparison, the PL has produced 7 clubs who have won the Premier League title and European winners, from Liverpool (19), Chelsea (6), Scum (20), Arsenal (13) and Schitty (8).

You may be content with 4 from Salzburg, I wouldn't (apart from anything else, our record of obtaining and then playing "talented U23s" is not great!). If it transpires that we do something like that, we will see which of us has the keenest insight. or not!

I didn't put a limit on the number of incoming, but if we get the 4 best Saltsburg players as said I'd be happy they are U23's playing first team football not in an U23 league..., Arsenal, Citeh have never won the Champions league, Hamburg and Dortmund have. Germany is dominated by Bayern just as Spain is by Barca and Real, England by Citeh and Liverpool... I don't see what your getting at?? All the clubs are made up of on average +50% imports from varying leagues

"None are so blind as those who will not see".

Not about imports/exports, it's about the level the players who play for these clubs are expected to play at and the EVIDENCE of past performance shows incontrovertibly that the PL requires and gets better performances from more players across a wider spectrum of clubs than ANY European league and therefore provides a larger and more capable resource pool than any other league (and I'd suggest that should also extend to the Championship).

If you "don't see what (I'm) getting at", then there's not much point in continuing the dialogue.

Orta and Kinnear are in the USA to sign another American striker. Fascination with Americans will continue I hope it doesn't all turn pear shape for us. Feel it has 49 ers written all over it.
