As I said earlier - as things stand on the evidence of today - I would say bottom 8.
I was shocked with most of our players - especially Kichen who looked like someone from a local pub team.
We have some good technical players - it’s difficult to image that their level of performance could get worse than last season - but it did today.
I did however post an IP yesterday asking whether the players were ready (after watching Hudders v Burnley) for the start of this season.
Clearly Barnsley weren’t today.
So I can only hope that the Plymouth game was the worst of the season.
Technical ability only shows through if you are prepared to work hard as well .
Technical ability is absolutely of no use if you can't smell the danger and allow players to simply run past you as Styles did for the Plymouth goal .
The quicker Styles fecks off the better in my opinion going on today .
Only Collins had a good game.
I’ve never seen a team with a line up that played with only 2 at the back - Mads and Cundy.
And as said in my half time assessment - Cundy was slow - so there was no surprise that he didn’t appear after half time.
Does anyone know what position Kichen was playing?
Was he supposed to be in the back 3 ?
I thought Cadden was poor and Luca didn’t pull any trees up.
I’m astonished with the performance - I know there has been a pre season and friendly games have been played - but on today’s evidence that would be difficult to believe.
It looked like they had only just met.
Things can only get better.
Haven't seen the game but from what's been said it sounded poor. As we know, Rome wasn't built in a day. Onwards we go. There's another 135 points to play for!
Terrible game but the second half was a slight improvement. Could have grabbed an equaliser, but it wouldn't have been deserved. Kitchen had a mare, as did Styles. I've come to the conclusion I'm not a Mads fan. I think he's a terrible defender and flatters to deceive. All he seems to do is kick a ball hard and long. His passing is woeful at best. Short passes are often wayward and hit so hard they're impossible to control. Long passes are wayward and often over hit. Even his back passes have Collins scrabbling after them. He'll get himself into trouble playing out of from the back as he doesn't have that skill and will pass it to a marked man putting them under pressure immediately. His positioning, marking and reading of the game are poor in my opinion. I know loads will disagree, but everyone is allowed they're own opinion and this is mine.
Andersen's best season was under Ismael when he had a simple job. Play up near the heyf way line with Collins behind him to cover, run forward to head the ball back into the opposition's heyf and hoof the ball forward or into touch if it was near the ground. He is no Paul Futcher or Ian Evans but could well find his level in the Third Division. He is liked because he puts the effort in and has an infectious smile/ enthusiasm.

Plymouth are not a poor team , they got 80 points last season & will be in the mix again this year , we were second best in all departments but hopefully Duff will have learnt more in the 90 minutes yesterday about our problems and address them over the next month in the transfer market , Rome wasn"t built in a day & at this stage we have to back the manager to put things right but we have to be patient .
