Half time - pretty poor from Notts for the most part just passing it round at the back, we miss Ruben's creativity. First attack with purpose Chicksen beats his man and laid it back to JOB I think and he crossed into the far post for a langstaff tap in. Second goal a cross and Scott at the near post beats the keeper to the ball to flick it in. Slocombe pulled off a fantastic save at one nil from a volley from the penalty area.

We've been quite poor in the main but Halifax this season are a long way from previous incarnations. As I say as soon as we put a decent attack in with speed and purpose we've scored two. Would be a shock to draw or lose this game now.

We’ve had the ball a lot but not done a lot with it but certainly stepped it up the last 10, thought they got more fans than this, pretty poor support.

Notts' 16th visit to the Shay and we've never failed to score there.

This is a pivotal moment in how we are going to be away from home this season. It sounds like the game was not the greatest but what we had is two chances (or created two chances) in the last five minutes and we go in at half time 2-0 up.

What we have to learn from past seasons (certainly away from home) is to go on and finish this game off and put it to bed. Should we let Halifax back in it and draw 2-2 again that will not be the kind of second half we need if we want to be right up there.

That is why we must push for the third, and also try and keep that clean sheet. It can be the same as the first half for me performance wise as long as we don't grab a draw or defeat from the jaws of victory and win.

With that in mind, I've had a bit on in play on a Halifax win at 50/1.

Its not rocket science. For the first time this season, the manager selects 2 strikers from the start that scored over 50 golas between them last season, and guess what happens

Sounds like we're going to have to ride out early 2nd half pressure after their manager gave them a good talking to.
