I thought we would have won that if they hadn't had a sending off!
So chuffed to be proved wrong, hope Collins has learned a lot from today.
Kane MOM for me, glad Macatee got off to a flier and the teams confidence improves, after this performance I hope Kitching and Styles leave!
With a bit more experience in the first team young Shepherd will also come on leaps and bounds.
If Collins has learnt anything from today is that if he wants to play with a ten then he's certainly got one with MaCatee .

The bad news for Collins is that he'd be well advised to play just the single striker if he does play MaCatee and stick with the flat midfield three with Luca pulling the strings asap .

Cadden did very well today defensively I thought protecting young Shepherd even though he'd his hands full with Humphrys and Williams covered Cotter very well too who only has eyes for getting forward .

It looked pretty obvious to me the players and coaching staff have had a sit down and our most senior players have called for a switch to last season's set up .

Kane , Cadden , Williams , Phillips and Cole all stepped up today and covered the young lads and Russell very well I thought .

There's more than a hint of a clear the air meeting in that performance , my guess is that the senior players were instrumental in changing back to Duff ball .

At the moment any team in the 1st Division is likely to beat any other team.
Everything is up in the air as clubs try and sort out their squads.

It remains a shambles at Barnsley even after the 0-2 win at Wigan.
And it will remain a shambles until after the transfer window closes.
It should then in theory settle down.

It is plain to see that we have players that can do well in this league.
But we are still not playing as a team - against Wigan IMO we only got up to 2nd gear - there’s another 3 more gears available to get up to full speed into 5th gear.
The most important thing is that the effort is there from the players - which is a clear sign the players want to do well.

A win doesn't cover up what is fundamentally wrong at the club. Who knows, Collins may have seen the Duff formation as the way to get a result against Wigan? He may well revert back against Cheltenham next week. We'll see.

It's a good result today but it papers over the cracks somewhat. The reality is that we need a replacement for Norwood and 2 centre aifs (1 experienced) bringing in the next few days. If we don't, I'm afraid we'll be frustratingly inconsistent this season.

As daft as it sounds, that next game away at Cheltenham could be the first big test for us now.
Not only are they bottom, and look at how we lost last season at Morecambe when they were bottom.
But its really important now that we don't throw away all the good work from today's win.
And its also after the 'window' closes, so some players might have joined us or left us by then.

Can someone tell me what is wrong with Cundy? Is he injured? If not he’s on his way out!

The up and down form and inconsistent results show why it is useful to wait until at least 10 games to allow the league to settle.

It's an up time this weekend and well done to the players for that. We are in mid table with a mid table record of W2 D1 L2 from 3 home games and 2 away.

Let the transfer window pass and play another five games and I think we will be able to better assess where we are.

No idea Perky , not heard why he's not available .

Same with Luca but if it's what I think it is then it's understandable .

Collins speaking to the Yorkshire Post after the game yesterday saying he doesn't know his best side yet .

This is a consequence as you've alluded to in the Transfer and Rumours thread of having an influx of new and inexperienced players bestowed on him plus his own ideas to boot .

However in my opinion Collins didn't help himself either with a very fragmented pre season campaign and his decision to cancel friendly matches and favour the training ground instead .

Even by this clubs standards I've never seen a more scattergun approach than we've witnessed this summer in preparing for a new season .

The remit in my opinion was to build on what Duff achieved last season with the aim to go one better this season and what appears to have played out is everyone involved from the recruitment team to the Head Coach basically doing their own thing and hoping things work out .

At the end of the day the CEO takes full responsibility for this contrary approach and is supposed to be the leader and figurehead of the business .

I can tell you now the current CEO is the biggest problem at this club without question .

I would have sacked him following the Hex.Com scandal last season personally and he'd have never got the opportunity to harm my club again .

Patrick Cryne would have dismissed him instantly like he did with Linton Brown over the Winnall transfer .

I'm pleased the fans forum was available to watch last week because I thought it was very revealing and showed just what the CEO is .

He's a poisonous and incompetent man , promoted beyond his ability .

JAQ and Neerav unfortunately are too football dumb to see it .

Strong words though probably ones I'd not choose, but I see where you're coming from.

I've never liked his demeanour and the whispering to Neerav during the forum last week when he was meant to be listening to a question was as arrogant as it comes.

The West Stand debacle started alarm bells ringing for me even if the orders came from above, it was dealt with shambolically.

I've seen various things since, especially during interviews that don't quite ring true about the bloke. He strikes me as a particularly icy kind of bloke with not any character or emotion or indeed warmth.

A bloke employed in that position should exude warmth and positive characteristics. He's fronting the football club for Christ sakes.

I've always trusted my instinct and my instinct tells me to be cautious. However, I'm an oddball myself and my demeanor and lack of social skills have led to me becoming judged/disliked because I struggle with eye contact. I probably should know better than to criticise Khaled because his demeanour, way of speaking and body language are open to doubt.

Just a slight sample and it may not mean too much to many but I think it shows his character .

If the players give their shirts away to the fans following a game they have to cough up £50 out of their own pocket .

That was brought in by the current CEO .
