If that’s true then dubravkas got no chance of getting in. And can anybody please tell me why we are still paying gillespies bloody wages.

Very easy to overreact on the back of a heavy defeat but the fact is Brighton do that to pretty much everyone once they take the lead. They’re good - better than us I would argue - certainly at home. We were below par and got deservedly beaten. That was our first poor performance of the season but the way some people go on you’d think we’re in a crisis!

Our midfield 3 is unbalanced and needs work. Our defence is extremely vulnerable without Botman and we’re a one trick pony with our tactics. Beat our press, which was half-arsed today, and you’re through on goal. Players, coaching staff and fans need to do better but must stick together. Things have been a lot worse.

Performances aside, the only really disappointing result has been Liverpool. It’s no big surprise not to get points at Brighton or City.
We have a key 2 weeks coming up and I’m almost pleased now that Pope didn’t get called up. A lot of work needed in these 2 weeks and we need a convincing display against Brentford to set us up for the CL games.

Our squad is good but the performances need drastic improvement and it needs to be now.
Time for Tripps to hold a players meeting too.

    ****!!!!!!

What an awful performance today. Some people suggesting the Liverpool game took it out of us but I feel something has not been right since at least the City game. The players belief in themselves seems to have completely gone.

I was hoping for a real tireless performance today o nthe back of the dissappointing Liverppool defeat. I wanted to see the players come out in ****ing war paint ready to do battle but it was the complete opposite.

Pope was poor. I've said it before, I don't rate him, but he's better than this! Looks low on confidence. Time for Dubravka to get back in?

Targett has done himself no favours. Another player low in confidence but today was a big chance for him to make his case for first choice left back. He was poor.

Burn wasn't good. But he's not played centre back for a year now so that's perhaps his excuse.

The biggest problem is the midfield three. There is something not right about it. It doesn't help that Joelinton and Bruno have been way off form. Neither of them look fit to me. Tonali is quality but we don't seem to know how best to use him just yet.

Almiron was useless, but so were Trippier and Gordon. Gordon looked tired. Schar looked off it.

The only positive thing was Wilson who looked sharp and took his goal well. Time to get him into the starting 11.

Howe actually made the same subs I would have made today. Ok, my starting 11 would have been different but still...
He has a massive job on his hands now. He has to prove himself at this level and it's not going to be easy. I hope he silences all the doubters, including me!

The players need that belief back. They need the energy and intensity to return. That's our game! We don't have the quality to play any other way right now.

Todays game made me wonder just how good our transfer business actually was. I think we may have bought four players that weren't a priority and have therefore ****ed ourselves for this season.

I bet PSG are ****ting themselves!

We need to get our fight back asap!
