Time to move to new board

I also set up a new Carlisle forum on ProBoards last year. I’m a gnat’s tooth away from going live, but something always stops me.

You have done a cracking job over the past few years trying to keep the Carlisle board alive griffy but dont you just fancy putting your feet up and putting in the odd post on The Buzz instead of having to deal with the troll that will undoubtedly follow you on there?

I'm heading over to give the new site a try. I've steadfastly remained with and defended this message board for over 20 years, but it's never been more unusable. I can only conclude that the people who own/control it have lost interest, because otherwise they would have done something to iron out these recurring problems permanently. Swale deserves thanks for being an excellent moderator for our particular board a long time, it's not his fault, but the central administrators of MAD must be asleep.

The 'new' MAD board is pretty much the same as here, layout wise. Difference being, it's got better functionality, being more modern. But until the majority move...we're still split across different places.

Well Chalky, it’s a matter of pride now, and with a new board I’ll have oversight over memberships which I don’t have on Footymad, DSG deal with that. I’ll put me feet up when I kark it. Ta though for the nice comments.

I've been on the board linked above above for a few days now and to be frank, the new site is far better. It's got everything this site has got, plus the return of the long lost 'like' button, but with much better functionality and a lack of annoying adverts. If you keep coming here out of force of habit, as I have until now, then I'd recommend having a look at the new board. I've got nothing against this site having been loyal to it for two decades (strewth!), but the central administrators don't seem to be giving it any TLC anymore.

I've now been lumbered with the dilemma of which forum to do the Prediction League. It has to be one or the other, I can't be doing with combing the two. So I hope the majority make the decision to switch or not before August.

The new footymad site is way better than this one, but I think too many people are set in their ways and will be prepared to put up with a sub-standard product and stay here. The only way we'll ever move is if this site crashes completely.
