Was hoping for more insight into what changes might be made by Labour. Their trade union paymasters might have some concerns about their own pension pots and if they realise that they are not funded at all, unlike the private sector, they might actually see that their self interest is actually the same their lower paid colleagues who rely much more heavily on the basic state pension.

State pension is a benefit, I've paid a contribution to the state pension my entire working life and I've been unemployed for four weeks in that time.

I also paid a contribution for 12 years into an RAF pension whilst bravely defending the nation from the red terror and fighting in a war against the evil Iraqis who thought they could just walk into Kuwait and set their oil rigs alight. That was on top of my state pension contributions. Payment of the RAF pension is also considered a benefit.

I am currently in receipt of my RAF pension and don't actually need it but am not in receipt of my state pension yet (bit to go).

Having gone short in wages for over forty years to pay those benefits to others I believe I 100% deserve to receive those benefits when my turn comes whether I need them or not and anyone who believes differently is just a bit of an idiot IMO.

Got this vision of you in John mclaine style white vest shouting yipeekye EEE mother****ers......at the Russians.

    It's a bit disconcerting.

In other news ......I predict a riot if they means test state pension or introduce a ridiculously low wealth tax.

Personally I've included state pension in my planning so my plans go AHH to **** if I don't get it.....wouldn't get the flat in Corralejo. 🥳

I'll be damned I don't get it and some dingy diver, junkie or ****wit gets theirs.
