That was the worst officating I have seen in a long time.

I don't even think it's corruption, I think it's sheer incompetence and refs that have got so use to VAR covering for them, or giving them something to blame.

****ing awful - fact all pundits are ripping into it.

Bet we'll get the standard apology and then he'll ref next Sat. . . pathetic.

But - great result, ****ing deserved.

Really please for Voldemort - was just after Sandro as my MOTM.

Sandro - what can we say, brilliant - def looking happier being the main man and dare I say it, out of Bruno's shadow.

Trips - he'll go down as a club legend. How he is still playing all these games at 35, more so when we can see his pace has gone.

Seeing passed all the cr*p we played pretty well. Its not often this season, at 0-1 away (when they had 11 players on still) I still thought we had a chance.

    Just back online.

Without reading any of your comments (I will after this) I gotta say this and apologies if it's been said already.

    1) The reffing was just incompetent. Possibly biased but I don't think it was outright corrupt last night. They aren't used to making calls without VAR. They should have had 9 men, we didn't get a stonewall pen and their goal was clearly offside. We blasted them 3-1 but it could have been 6 if the officials did their job correctly. THE WORST REFFING IN A WHILE BY FAR.

    2) Tonali is better without Bruno. Clear to see, very similar styles and he was an absolute monster last night. He always does it against Villa. Love the guy and wish he played like this more often. An Italian thorough bred

    3) Big Nick needs to play higher more. I have no problem with him playing deep but SOMETIMES not most of the time. He is 6ft 6 Get some crosses in Solano and Gillespie style. He has it in the locker to dominate in the air like Sir Les and big Dunc.

    4) The bedwetters can fk right off. Ithis **** is what gives us a fickle reputation. Leave EH alone. He will adjust and improve. We are still in the cup, the ,CL and top 10 even after Isak. I see small improvement happening before my eyes with players - the new boys are in the lab right now. Wait until EH has his first choice 12 available. Ramsey was good last night as was Hall.

    5) The away fans were class last night.

    - Whist I appreciate that it's not nice to admit that there is definite corruption with in the game. I would disagree with you.

When Kavanagh is walking over to give the handball free-kick it was clear from his facial expression that he was listening to someone on his head-set. He was being told what to do. He was looking off into the distance not focused on what he was doing.

It that instance you would be walking over to the linesman and getting his opinion as he had a clear view.

    Nothing.

There is NO WAY a professional who has ref'd over 180+ and a linesman of similar experience can get that wrong. Even Granny Shagger Rooney said 'At no point did Digne leave the Penalty area.'

The Linesman had to see that. It's not possible to make that mistake.

It is intentionally give as a free kick to deny Newcastle United a clear goal scoring opportunity against a team the Ref was forced to reduce to 10 men.

There is no excuse, incompetence is something in a split second that can be missed. Digne was clearly inside the area.

The Off-side goal was so clearly off-side3 or 4 players were off-side. The reason defences line up on the 18yrd box line is to demark the on/off side line. No one can make that mistake who has ref'd even a kids match.

It Tammy was off-side in the same was Willock was off-side against Spuds, then I could excuse it but the lad had gapped Thiaw, there was fresh air between them. You could have shoved a Scrunchy wearing Mackem Single mother's pram through the gap!

We have to be grateful that the lads got the job done and righted the injustice.

2 away wins in a round against 'Big Clubs'

It there was corruption at play then it was amatuer at hest. Fkn stupid at worst. I mean they were so blatantly wrong on all 3 decisions I cannot believe he would be so arrogant to brazen it out. You may he right and if you are this has massive implications for the game. Breathtaking to actually make those decisions without repercussions and think you could get away with it. If you are going to cheat then at least have the decency to do it properly on marginal decisions I think keeping the keeper on the field was infinitely more doable than denying the pen, allowing the goal or keeping Digne on the field. They gotta be just diickheads surely?

    Repercussions?

One match suspension for the ref and 1 linesman.

The other lineo will be in action at the weekend.

    What repercussions?
